hi, kinda off topic, im looking to play around with web development and would appreciate any suggestions on a domain registration service.
i'm leaning towards google domains (to potentially couple with a youtube channel) but curious if anyone had any better experiences, prices, providers, etc theyd recommend.
I currently use Go daddy for PHP/HTML/Database based coding and Google app engine for hosting a java servlet api system.
Both have been reliable enough over the course of the year and was fairly straight forward to use, however I'm not sure how pricey the java servlet will become when it's in full swing. (it varies based on usage)
I would suggest looking at what you want to develop on first and go from there as despite being able to code in many languages I find hosting options which are cheap/available usually determines what I develop on for personal projects.
I suggest putting your image assets into the cloud, such as Imgur, and keep your home code and links purely for your website design.
You can change IP's and web hosts, but your assets are still available.
Web hosting: these days, that's highly dependent on what web content you want to host. Do you want a forum? A wiki? Plain old html with no server-side programs? Different folks specialize in different supporting infrastructure.
