Patch help :)

Post by +Nyx »

Hey folks. Colibri has said that he will work on getting my patch put in after the big shard project he's working on now is finished. So I've been going through re-checking everything I did, adding some even newer content, etc. But while I am at it, I want to try and fix as many of the weird glitchy items we seem to have on the shard as I can. I figure more eyes are better, so I'm going to have you guys post and tell me of any you know of.

by "Glitchy items" I mean:
- Items which don't hue very well (dyes the whole item when it should probably only dye part)
- Items that have pixels missing where they should not
- Items which do not 'sit' correctly on their respective tile
- Items that have 'extra' pixels hanging off them
- Items that only face one direction
- Items that should hang on a wall but when dropped they stay at ground level instead.
- Items that should not 'highlight' when locked down, but do currently.
- Items that can be walked over but shouldn't be, or vice versa.

So anything along those lines that you guys can think of, post here.

A basic list of ones I have already fixed:
- various benches that had only one direction will have both
- Red curtains will have both directions
- Some banners will hue better
- Various items that will hue only part of the item instead of the whole item, such as flowers and fountains
- Hundreds of tiles that sat wrong, highlighted wrong, or were walkable when they shouldn't be

For what it is worth. I have noticed that the stone chairs/thrones have alot of black pixels at the top of them. looks like a big black smudge basically at the top of the back of it. all color varieties seem to do this.

you can walk over flowers as deco plants, but not trees... not sure if you should be able to walk over deco trees... but figure its worth mentioning.

Paintings hung on the wall are visible from the floor above, that is you can see them through the floor, even when they are not raised. This occurs in my classic design tower.

Not sure if these are what you had in mind, but I'm excited by all this patch talk. Yard wand waterfall E2 is not animated, while the south version of this tile is. The rideable drake has missing bits when facing W, NW, E, SW. Sitting Area 1 seems to conceal part of the player when sitting on one of the 2 inner tiles.

The big one I've noticed this with is a "Ruined Painting" from Doom. Not sure if the same happens with the standard "Large Painting." It also occurs when using the deco tool to raise various items depending on how many units of the Z axis they initially measure as well as how many they're raised by (specifically the mounted dragon head, tokuno stealable paintings, and sword displays.) Thanks +Nyx!

I don't know if you can fix this too, but the headband of power (probably all headbands) looks bad on the paperdoll if you use some of the custom hues. If you want to check - it happens to a male paperdoll equipped Headband of power dyed to hue 2229.

Alright, I've fixed all of the listed issues including headbands and the halberd hues in gump view. I'm not able to fix the graphical glitch with deco showing on floors above/below when raised too high or too low. Nor can I fix the hue issue for the imps that polymorph, or the yard wand tool issue. Those are all Coli requests but I will add them to his "to-do" list that will go along with the patch files and maybe he can do something with them :)

Although the paperdoll appears correct, the one-handed bow and shield both appear to be equipped by the toon's same hand.

I suspect there is a limit as to how well you could fix that
