Racial Benifits, elf or human?

Hi folks, I searched both the website Wiki and the forums with the search command and couldn't find any info on the subject, so I figured asking here is my best bet. If my goal is to play primarily a melee fighter with the other stuff as a secondary which race would be best.

So I suppose my first question is are the racial benefits done on the shard and if so do they match the ones on the live server.

If they are on the shard and do match the live server ones my second question is I’ve read on Stratics the main advantage of Human is that they have +20 to all skills (which really doesn’t matter here) and HP regeneration. So my question is if the HP regeneration is significant enough to make it worth while compared to the Elves +5 to energy resist cap, +20 to mana and increased chance of getting rare ore when mining?

The only playable race we have here is human so you really have no choice. As far as I know.
