New player progression

Post by Lonestar »

Hello. I played here 4 years ago, and I have recently started over. I want to make sure I have the right plan. I'm currently building skills and stats. Next is Mistvale, 220 dex suit, and GoC. Is this the best plan? I'm also planning on working on a house for beekeeping as the money comes in. Also, is it possible to set up a loot macro on razor, or will I have to use easyuo?

Welcome back!

Yes you should get your stats and skills up as much as you can before Mistvale. Then you can get that gear which will help out tremendously followed by 220 dex. GoC is optional...I never did it. You could work on your first relayer instead.

As far as loot macros go most people use the looter in UOSteam as it's already built in and super easy to use. I'm sure there's a Razor macro somewhere but UOSteam seems to be the preferred choice.

I only use razor and do have an auto looter however, it does not have a built in looter. Until you are closer to end game and have a Huge bag of holding with some added item deeds (mine hold 100 items) and are able to buy a buch of add item limit to main backpack razor looting as part of a macro is no very practical.

I have [claimall as part of a fight script (with razor you can only run one script at a time) that targets any corps on the ground. All items on the corps are claimed and placed in your backpack. As part of the same script, I have a Sort 1 that moves all useless items to the trash bag and a sort 2 that moves all useful items (jewels, regents, ores, woods, ointments, gold arrows ect..) to my HBOH. Razor can not look for 58% weapons or +8/+8 rings so you will claim them and throw them away with everything else and when your trash bag fills up you have to wait for the items to be deleted by the game before you can keep looting.

If you can use other programs I would recommend it, I use a razor because its wht I know and am not willing to change even though i know there are better things out there.

Taming and a maxed mule plus 4 maxed noble steeds comes before Mistvale if you can wing it and defintely before 220 dex. This basic taming setup is cheap (under 5M gold and under 30 hours of play) and is sufficient to win at all of the money-making areas in mistvale -- which opens the financial gateway to 220 dex.

GoC is optional. I personally found the prizes underwhelming for the amount of effort.

Thanks for the great responses. I also use razor due to familiarity, but I will check out steam when I get home. I have a few low end mules and 100 taming already, so I think the rest will fall into place as I grind more. I have 2 weeks or so before mistvale is open to me, so plenty of time to make needed adjustments.

I think you've outlined your progression well. Imp pets are at all time low prices. You can buy low statted ones for like 200k and a pack still does comparable damage to maxxed imps. With them and 100taming/lore/vet you can complete every single GoC dungeon and Mistvale easily.

I would definitely always be keeping 220 dex in mind in early game. definitely do mistvale, it is such a quick way to progress. GoC is worthwhile, the good pieces have massive stats and are definitely worthwhile.

There is also the new karate belt progression quest. The last few belts are the best non-relayer belt slot items you can get and are relatively easy to complete with pets. Definitely worth beginning this questline early (even before mistvale). Go to Tokonu Makoto Zento and head south to the big building.

If you got any specific questions [pm John Warren in game.

Thanks again. I've picked up the white belt quest, and almost finished with stats.
