March Destash Raffle

We've gone from collecting 1500+ tickets in a 1-month raffle to less than 300 tickets in a 3-month raffle. We also went from numerous folks submitting 50+ (and some 200+) tickets in a 1-month raffle to only 2 players submitting more than 15 in a 3-month raffle. That would indicate folks are not stockpiling much of anything for the raffles.

The only item(s) that usually have a clear stockpiling issue are the BOD reward items, because some folks are gathering/completing/submitting them AFK (or some variation thereof), even though I've stated this isn't OK for the raffle. That's why I don't put the BOD rewards up very often anymore. If/when +C makes an official note on the codex that gathering/filling/turning in BODs afk isn't allowed and adds it to the automatic afk checking system then I imagine that will lessen quite a bit.

I think Nyx's analysis above is absolutely correct. Destash items will continue to accumulate since new players are always joining, it is all in cycles (I just think the very first one was a abnormality since it has never existed prior to it). Why should new players be different than us current players. They will also "hoard' or collect items. I think the way it is now (having a Destash every 3 months or meeting x amount) is a good balance considering the circumstances. Although I sometimes wish all rooms were open, I understand the logic and have no problem holding on to them till the next round of Destash or just getting rid of them.

I've been considering going back to having all rooms open, and then increasing the ticket requirement by a lot again. Then just let it run until it reaches the ticket goal or the 3-month mark. Problem is, the BODs will be abused again. So I've also considered removing BOD rewards all together. I don't really want to do that, but I have no way to cap how many of a particular type of item a specific account can submit per raffle, and until it's part of the automatic AFK checking system, it's gonna get abused for the raffle.

I agree that BODs should probably not be eliminated and I see the point of abusing you mention. What about having BODs every 3rd or 4th raffle? If its every other, I guess it wont hurt enough accumulating for 3 months.

Another alternative would be to have separate depository for BOD rewards in which you receive a major BOD reward (unique item for Destash), similar to tokuno minors which can be handed in for something better. Items handed in could be traded in for something useful such as fort powder (which has a value of around of 75k) or handed in for Destash. This would reduce BOD rewards by 90% if its 10 for 1 item applicable to Destash. These "majors" can then be placed inside the Destash and count towards pink or yellow tickets. Just an idea.

I know some people do AFK the BODs, though that would just take the fun out of it in my opinion. Partial tickets, and increasing the number of items needed could be helpful. I collect 10 of each type of armour in pretty colours for my display houses so the extras just sit in a box until I sort out what I need and what I don't.

I've considered upping the number of items, but sadly I think that'd just encourage more people to AFK it. I don't want to alienate players who do BODs more casually to where they think they need to grind out tons more to get a ticket, but I'll mull it over some.

sorting bods is fun but filling them IS NOT FUN. your post just confirms my suspicion that you are bat guano crazy.

Suggestion: a separate BOD box where we can turn in 10 +1 leather items in exchange for another bod to fill!
