looking to buy HBOH
looking to buy HBOH
Subject sums it up. Im going to donate to get the ED since it would take me 10 years to accumulate that much gold. Not trying to ruin the market, I know what im expecting to pay. But Ill buy from the lowest bidder in about 3 days time. Trying to get as close to 500 ed as possible since im gonna drop some real cash money. Please pm Randy Marsh if you are selling one, and soon i will no longer be overloaded.
Thanks
Also, question on it. It holds 60 weightless items correct? Does a pile of 60k gold count as 1 item? That is more often than not what overloads me. I can only currently carry about 20k gold with my current bag
Thanks

Re: looking to buy HBOH
60k is one item.
Re: looking to buy HBOH
however, it only holds 40 items.
Re: looking to buy HBOH
A much cheaper short term solution is a bag of sending. When you get overweight, send that pile of gold directly to your bank.
Works in most places, other than doom gauntlet.
Not that I'm discounting the value of a HBOH, (I have multiples myself). Just if you can't find one for the price you are looking for, or can't donate more (or buy more ED with gold) to make up the difference.

Thanks for the answers. I am aware of BoS, just feel its time to graduate. Im getting stronger and sometimes have to jump off mule and load him up every 4 kills for some of the mobs that drop a lot of gold. plus slows me down leveling. I feel its justified to spend real money because it will help me enjoy the game more.

Re: looking to buy HBOH
Yea the cheapest i have seen one going for as of the past few weeks was one at Lava Shop for 575 for a HBOH ... You may want to look at just getting a BOH which is the 20 slot version for 400 ed as a starter ... I had one of those for the longest time until i finally upgraded to a huge one ... 20 slots at 0 weight is still a vast amount of gold plus you can store bandages and amo if you use a bow ...
Just a thought.

Re: looking to buy HBOH
Just save up the 600 and buy a HBOH, I mean, most who used to sell them (the non greedy players) always sold for 500 ED. Now the greed has impacted players who think a 25 ed (is 1.25 mil discount on a 30 million dollar item really a sale or discount? No, you know it isn't) is a good deal. It is not. I'd rather pay 1.5 mil more to Colibri and removing gold from the shard, than to a greedy person who is rich and thinks 1.25 mil on 30 mil is a discount. But that is just my common sense kicking in.
Re: looking to buy HBOH
@Dramoor: In the context of the thread, blacklisting is against the codex. A simple pm to the originator of the thread would have been the proper way to share your "common sense", no need to post on the forums.

Re: looking to buy HBOH
Not trying to hijack the thread - consider this a free bump
- but why would players sell HBOH privately at all, much less at a loss? They're the best bag of holding there is and it's incredibly useful to any kind of player. I can imagine someone winning one in Trinsic auction and wanting gold more than the HBOH but that can't possibly happen very often...

@Unbeliever: completely agree, HBOH are probably the single best item on the shard.
Re: looking to buy HBOH
@alex first off there was no blacklisting it was a general statement of pricing matters. I am allowed to state any opinions I have on the matter. I never called anyone names in any matter of a negative way or even used something to perceive something other than greed. Calling a person greedy (which no one was singled out or called out, maybe you should re-read the comment) is allowed and happens everyday in WC without any staff interaction if it does not go further than the opinion on a subject of pricing judgement.
If you feel you need to feed an ego or any sort of involvement to make yourself feel better about not even being called out, enjoy your rant. Or if you want to try to cause drama just because you don't agree with my opinion, enjoy your boost.
(Don't forget there never was a name called out unless your character name is "Players" or "People").

Some people are so full of themselves that they spew out their opinions as fact and throw veiled insults as general comments. But if your name is not 'some people'.. it's probably not you i'm talking about.

Some people like to eat bacon. Mmmmmm bacon. Pariah will share his maple bacon donuts with some people...
Back on topic though. It seems there have been a lot of flame wars over pricing lately. The economy here is always in flux and something is worth what people are willing to pay/sell for an item. Heck, I've seen SOME PEOPLE complain about pricing and vendors site only to find some higher end items on their vendor prices at 100k below everyone else's (doesn't happen by chance) Hypocrisy or smart business practice (some of both perhaps)? I mean, I can't dump a Jackal's Collar right now for 1 mil without putting it on my vendor (which has started to make me wonder why people will buy off vendor but not over pm, is there some sort of comfort in anonymity?). Either way, my point is the market is so small for higher end items, and there are so few avenues to achieve them, that the market can be disrupted by as few as 3 sellers. If you are the ONLY person selling a HBOH, and the ONLY other avenue to get one is to pay full ED stone price, then you can prob get 550-575 EDs, because there are no other options. However, if there are 2-3 people selling, you might see a better price.
TL;DR Prices here are in flux and no one knows the true price of anything because the market can be disrupted by a very small number of the same item.

Re: looking to buy HBOH
IMO, the flaming over prices is just silly. Personally, I overprice items, under price items, throw items away and drop them on the ground for others to grab. Whatever I feel comfortable doing. This game is built for it. Buy and sell at whatever is comfortable. The economy in UO is an illusion, delusion, mirage or just a delicious cupcake left over from last nights get-together. *shrugs*
