Masquerade Ball Event

I will be holding a masquerade costume event this year in celebration of Halloween, with lots of surprises! There will be rewards for the best costumes and special prizes for certain categories of costume (Scariest, funniest, best interpretation etc).

Costume Info:
- Every attendee must wear a mask and costume.
- Attendees may not wear Halloween costumes from the costume stone. Your outfit for this event must be one that you have thought up and created from available equipable items.
- Costumes should be shard appropriate and easily explained.
- I will provide temporary masks and brand-new patch clothing & accessories in the dressing area.
- Provided masks will sit in the earrings slot. Provided patch clothing will sit in the obvious slot (shirts will sit in shirt slot, belts will be waist slot).
- Male characters please note that if you wish to cross-dress, this will be tolerated within shard rules, however many of the female-specific items such as dresses do not sit properly on a male character (they are pictured accordingly).
- I will provide temporary universal dye tubs in the dressing area for dyeing the temporary costume pieces.
- Hair, skin color, gender changes, and other such modifications will be the player's responsibility and must be completed before entering the dressing area.
- Attendees will walk through a strip gate to access the dressing area.
- No old-world clothing or armor will be provided in the dressing area. If you wish to include any old-world items/weapons/accessories as part of your costume, there will be a drop box outside of the event gate. You will drop a bag of your items into this chest before you go through the strip gate. Once you are in the dressing area, your bag of costume items will be returned to you.
- Players will have one hour in the dressing area to complete and don their costumes. The gate will open at the designated time, and remain open for 45 minutes. If you arrive late, you will have less time to dress.

This event will take place on October 26th at roughly 1am shard time. The time is subject to change within a few-hours' range, but any changes will be announced. Please allot 2 hours for this event. If you leave before the end, you will not be eligible for any reward(s) or prizes.

You MUST be patched to attend this event!

You may download these images to view them full-sized. Each item is pictured twice - one is hued and one is plain, to give you an idea how well they will hue. This way you may select your colors in advance and save time in the dressing area.

So far we have decided on the following prizes/categories:

Overall best costume - 100 ED and you get to keep a copy of your costume (meaning if you use any temporary patch clothing from the dressing area, you will receive permanent versions at the end of the event).

Other prizes for:
Best interpretation of theme - 50 ED
Scariest Costume - 25 ED
Funniest Costume - 25 ED


There is also going to be a rather large surprise aspect to this event, and there will be excellent prizes for the winning players.

Will we be able to use the provided unidyes to dye our skin temporarily? (dont wanna lose my ethy hue permanently but it wouldnt work with my costume idea)

I will make a special offer for anyone whose skin hue is ethy before the start of the event. Page before you go in and let me know your skin hue is ethy and you're changing it for the masquerade. I'll verify and write it down, then you can dye your skin during the event, and then page after to have it changed back for a 50k token fee. Anyone else who needs to change their skin hue will need to do so the old-fashioned way.

Hmm, ok last question hopefully xD. When we page to let you know we are ethy, would it possible for you to revert us to a normal skin tone? I'm not wanting any of the crazy hue room hues, just normal skin for the costume contest

The Masquerade is tonight! V and I have been up all night working on getting everything ready for you guys, I hope to see everyone there!

Please remember that everyone who attends MUST be costumed (no halloween costumes from the costume stone. Make your own) and that every costume must include a mask. I am providing all of the masks pictured above, and I will accept sunglasses as a 'mask', which I will also provide. Additionally, I am providing all of the pictured clothing, and you will be able to drop your own items into a drop box as you enter the dressing area, so you may include any of your own items/costume pieces that you may need.

You must be patched to attend, and you should plan for approximately a 2 hour event. If you do not stay the entire time, you will miss out on the surprise activity which has its own special prizes.
