Since the shard is down i will take a few minutes to give you a piece of advice my old art teacher gave me... he said < Look at yourself in the mirror, do you see any defined lines in your face? Stop making lines when drawing faces! > So basicaly what he meant was, use shading to make the nose and such, what defines the nose, ears and mouth are the shadows and good way to practice shading is to make a sphere without a single line, seems simple ennough but once you tried you will notice it aint!
Also, use the bulleye technique (dont know the technical word in english, sorry) when drawing faces, which is, circle, horizontal and vertical line. This will help a lot to keep faces in proportion! Dont be affraid of making guides to follow on the drawing and for that i suggest you use a 4h pencil and a 2b pencil for the actual drawing. Experiment with the different kinds of pencils, you will find some are easier to make shading and other better at making defined lines. I hope this can help you become a better artist! Keep drawing! and mostly have fun doing it!
I decided to do something else for +Nyx... I really didn't like how the first picture (i drew) came out. So I did a charcole drawing of her! Suprisingly it took 4 hours! Usually my charcole drawings take 6-12 hours.
Well... I started on this last night... spent 2 hours... htne I passed out, woke up... did my schoolwork and started on this again. I LOVE HOW IT TURNED OUT!!! :^D *squee*
The only thing I hate... the eyes! O_O I hate drawing eyes!!!
After taking an art class in high school. I drew a nice hand on the back of my friends t-shirt, except; it turned out to have been drawn on the front side. What would have been a great hand on the back was pleasantly placed groping one breast. man, did i get a talking to for that one!
