Joust Tournament
The AnD guild is holding a jousting tournament Saturday, July 3rd @ 7:30PM EST/4:30PM PST.
To make it fair and fun for all, there are a few rules that must be followed:
1) The joust will have to be held in the PvP dungeon for obvious reasons. Being in the PvP dungeon does not give consent for attacking/killing jousters or spectators. Any hostile acts to disrupt the tournament will be reported to staff and since consent is not implied is a jail-able offense.
2) Jousting knights will only be allowed to wear armor/shields/weapons provided by Striker of AnD. No jewelry, clothing or any other stat giving equipment is allowed to be worn. Scans will be performed on each contestant and anyone caught cheating will be immediately disqualified.
3) The tournament is a single elimination event. The first person to be dismounted loses and the winner progresses to the next round. If both knights are dismounted in the same pass, they will remount and charge again until only 1 remains in the saddle.
4) The knights must register by either replying to this post with the character name they want competing or by sending Calan Caitin a PM in-game by Friday, July 2nd @ 5:00 PM EST/2:00PM PST.
Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 jousters which are as follows:
1ST - A trip to kill the Harrower for a stat scroll + a joust run against 5 AnD members with 100K gold awarded for each dismount achieved. (We will be using the same armor/weaps/shields as stated in rule #2).
2nd - A Jackal's Collar.
3rd - 750k Gold Check.
4th - 500k Gold Check.
5th - 250k Gold Check.
Gift boxes with special little gifts will be given to all who participate.
**Disclaimer** - There must be enough interest and contestants in the event for it to take place.

Re: Joust Tournament
You should come to this event with no armor or jewelry on. Everything will be provided for you. And just to be on the safe side, leave everything you would NOT want to lose in your bank or at home.
The Prize pack just for coming will be worth it for some.....

Re: Joust Tournament
good luck with the event, always liked lance weapons
if it happened some hours earlier (like 8pm server time) i would have joined, but its too late for me, still have a lot of fun guys

Re: Joust Tournament
I shall be there! Just a question: lance being a one handed weapon, will a sheild be provided or no?

Re: Joust Tournament
If I was you Calan I would contact staff already and maybe see what they say before hand, Because it does state you give consent to fight before you enter the PvP area.. Would be a shame if someone did decide they will have a bit of 'fun' while there is something going on down there.Calan Caitin wrote: 1) The joust will have to be held in the PvP dungeon for obvious reasons. Good luck with it all.

Re: Joust Tournament
I have indeed talked to +Chaos prior to planning this event. He told me that just by being in the PvP dungeon does not imply consent to PvP. Any and all players who come to cause trouble will be reported to staff.
The idea is to dismount your opponent. It's not a battle to the death, so there wont be any need to carry bandages or potions. The dismount special does very little damage when wearing 70 Physical resist, which the provided suits will have. The armor is plat plate armor w/shield, so str requirements wont be an issue. The weapon used and also provided will be the Luna Lance for its Use Best Weapon Skill. We will have 6 suits made with lances for each, so they will need to be returned for the next contestants to equip please. =)
Please feel free to PM me with any other questions about the event. =)

Does this mean you want to sign up for it? If so, is that your character name? Of course you are most welcome to just come watch and cheer on your favorite champion also. =)
Re: Joust Tournament
A correction of the rules,
when you are in the PvP dungeon, anyone can attack you, and since it's the PvP dungeon where this is allowed, the attacker will not go to jail. If a staff member is present however, one may step in and remove a person who is ruining the fun for all, though no promises (there will have to be someone online, and available to come and keep an eye out. Since we don't have a 24/7 coverage or a schedule for staff, we can't say whether someone will be there or not).
For all who wish to just watch, I suggest you leave everything in your bank, so in case that you are killed, you have nothing to loose.

Re: Joust Tournament
I would like to be sure i understand the page 2 of the book named consensual pvp rules in the pvp dungeon: 2. If someone enters a room and is not part of the current consenting party he may NOT attack any player in the room, nor may he be attacked. [...] 5. If you are caught breaking any of theses rules, you will be jailed [...]
Anyway, if thoses rules are no longer valid or if they cant be enforced, maybe a solution would be to edit a house in a way that there is a center area four the joust tournament and some place around the center area for people who want to watch. Then create a guild that the participants would join for the time of the tournement.

Re: Joust Tournament
I thought there was a jousting area, could we not just use that or is that where it will take place?
Any rate as long as nothing comes up I'll be showing up, same name as the forum name.

Yes, I beleive its near luna. But I think players can only attack others if they are in the same guild.
