Crafting
I was wondering if on this shard crafting can make u some good gold. Ingame most of the people tell me to do taming instead of crafting. What should I do?

I say do what you enjoy. Money seems to come pretty easy here.
No need to force yourself into doing what is considered the best thing if that is not what you are into.

Re: Crafting
With taming, comes the ability to get pets that can help you fight. Taming also allows you to get taming bods that can have some good rewards (along with the bad ones) that can also be worth some money.
Flat out crafting can be a slow start, but if you have time it can build your finances. Everyone says money is easy to come by here.. well i can say, that as a crafter that doesnt hunt money doesnt come easily until you reach higher levels of crafting, even then it can be hard.
If you are capable, crafting, mixed with hunting and taming will give you options, something to switch to when you have had your fill of one or the other. In Excelsior you are not limited by a skill cap, meaning you can make one character that can do everything. Yes, Craft to your hearts content, but add in some other things to spice up your experience!

Re: Crafting
No need to make one char for hunting and one for crafting, there's no skill cap.
Failure is not an option, it's a standard.

Re: Crafting
Yea at first I did not know there was no skill cap I recently found out. And my crafter char is already a gm smith and gm mining that took me some time to lvl.

Re: Crafting
To answer the question about collecting cotton, you must plant the cotton at your house, let it grow, then you can collect it. Unless you really like farming, it is much easier to shear sheep for wool.

Re: Crafting
Thanks for the info on the cotton. Another thing should i just stick to one char or does it matter? Or just keep the other char for crafting?

Re: Crafting
heh, I had to try the cotton thing... it doesnt just grow, you pick it its dead,, it grows again and again, dspite the cost of the seeds.. if it keeps regrowing I will certainly have gotten my moneys worth.. the hard part is the 30K per dirt tile...
