ok well I am big into the heavier stuff

the entire Monolith of Inhumanity album by Cattle decapitation is awesome, death metal but it pulls from every subgenre and doesn't care if say a song is grindcore mixed with black metal.. great album outstanding..

this band has been really getting my goat too.. from the Uk "The Haarp Machine" has a guitar player approaching death metal from a middle eastern classical music perspective.. very very very cool

I like my music to be hard, heavy and fast paced with a killer beat. Although i bet noone here shares a common taste in music as I, I felt the need to share three songs i have been enjoying, each very differnt from each other.

I'm not as into death metal as I used to be, but I do have a few underground bands... Knight Eternal, Amphetemikahn, and I forget other names Id have to look through my cd collection.

I also Love Industrial such as Unter Null, Eisenfunk, Wumpscut, ALien vampires etc...

also Black metal and doom metal are a passion of mine, Dimmu Borgir (I know sellouts whatever) Venom, Bathory, Behemoth, Enthroned, Burzum. and doom metal acts Like St Vitus, Candlemass, Cathedral, ect... and some sludge metal bands like Rwake, Copsodomy, Buzzov*en and so on...

My friend's band released this track, unfortunately they don't have a full album... :( And I've yet to find something that sounds even remotely alike.

Your probably looking for the Post Rock Genre, http://youtu.be/zYNUh2xsyls (Godspeed you black empror)
{GY!BE} is not a post rock band, though most bands will be on one or two sides of the duality that thrives in this area, Dark or Happy, clearly this GYBE "track" is on the darker side, but what I love about Post Rock is the inherit drama and or build up, which can poduce an intense feeling. There are far too many crazy genre names to try and name the rest.....
Happy: http://youtu.be/9pjU9YxIvxc (Sigur Ros) - For obvious reasons these "sounds" can be used in film...
Post Rock, good to study through all nighters cramming before exams:
