hello everyone! keg prices way too low
hello everyone! keg prices way too low
and it seems many new players dont even know what bees are! a successful 100k hive fed properly and given 2 agility potions is worth around 25k a day or so in wax and honey, so why is a whole weeks worth of potions, for like ten hives aka 1 keg, only 3k?
i propose we raise, and by we i mean you kegmakers and us buyers, the price per keg to 5k, so the people makin them make a more fair profit. ive been payin attention to the goings-on, and it does not even seem to be an enterprise worth the time, the keg makin that is. a kegmakers could make the same or greater profit killin a balron, or a lesser spawn. and i am sure a lot less effort. so, in the interest of fair market, let us all concur to raise the price to 5k per, much more fair and plenty reasonable!
i do not make nor intend to make kegs by mass, or even have high enuff alchemy currently. i merely am takin a step to increasin our economy. tell a new player about bees today!

also, let's get the price of 115 powerscrolls a more fair comparison to their 120 counterparts, it is really messin with the powerscroll market, and causin a huge backup of scrolls as everyone waits for the now cheapened 120. raise 120s, raise 115s, keep 110s affordable, of course, easily affordable.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
Well, it's the market. You can get 95% of the people to agree not to sell below some price, but someone will jump in
Basically, I'd rather not control the actual prices. I remember a shard where they've set the price range for each individual item, and some method to calculate for crafted items.
What is possible, is to reconfigure the game which also affects the prices.
In defense of the current keg sellers, they are not doing anything against the rules. Anyone can compete in the keg market.
But because potion kegs relate directly to beehives, which is simply a gold generating thing, I will probably reconfigure this.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
I agree with both parts of this post.. I mean if you look at the cost of buying the keg materials off exex it should someone be the basis of the price.. time as well isn't free. Alchemy is one of the skills newer players should be able to use to make some money on a shard that loves beekeeping as much as this..

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
the main thing i think we must remember is to keep the economy alive, thats why things that take a long time to farm / are rare cost high amounts, and thats why certain things are cheap and some expensive. plenty of things affordable, and should be, certain things shouldnt be. what i am more sayin is we must remember to balance help with furtherin the goal; i.e. said freemarket, and not allowin a crash in one or any area.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
You guys also gotta realize that alchemy isn't exactly hard to raise. On a shard with no skillcap there is no reason not to raise it. Alchemy is a skill everybody should have. Other shards charge more for kegs because you only get 5 characters with 700 skill points to split between each one, so people choose not to have alchemy, driving the price of potion kegs up.
Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
the thing about potion kegs is....95% profit 5% overhead (labor). so really your getting something for practically nothing. if a new player wants to he/she can go to cidel with some nobles and a looter script and make tons of reagents. wood is free, and also is the ingots. if you think the prices are too low then make them lower; then put the potion kegger out of buisness (not worth his/her time). then raise the price. easy enough.
there is also the rat quest. make 5 characters and by the time your done with the 5th character you could proly start over with the 1st one.
imo: i think that new players are becoming millionaires way too quick as it is. what do you want them to have? 5 plot house, 10 re-layers and 10 pet slots after a couple months? o.O

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
I have often enjoyed buying from various keg makers I would encounter randomly just to keep things
interesting for everyone and promote diversity. I know how fun it is to make a sale.
But it basically boils down to how hard it is to kill a Balron which is roughly the price of a keg.
I honestly am not sure which is faster: 1) Killing Balron, or 2) Building a Keg.
And that is just one example of earning enough gold to purchase it.
This game sports so many diverse ways of making income that there will always be a way for everyone
to get ahead, whether it's fast or slow. It again comes down to how much gaming time you can commit to per day.
I think beekeeping is most useful for people who can't commit to 40 hour+ gaming weeks.
Those same people might enjoy buying their kegs as well so they can get out there and do some Balron killing etc.

indeed, the main thing we must always remember is to keep a stable economy we must have steady item supply vs new and fresh items vs changin prices, hopefully more stable than up and down. i am merely tryna promote profits and prolong market values on certain items.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
Yeah I've never seen the Keg "industry" as a problem.
I decided this was not going to be a problem for me pretty much from day 2 on this shard (which is my first shard).
I wanted to craft armor and sell it, since I thought that stuff was cool but the monopoly was already taken up by 2 or three
respectable armor makers, so I decided just to leave them their little slice of heaven and do other stuff out of respect.
I mean it's not like this is a job or anything, right? These items are all created using macros while people play
Hello Kitty Island Adventure anyways. Which is a really kewl game btw.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
ok let me explain 2 things i used to keep 125 of each potion in stock. as cal can tell you 1 time i had a case of potions go away(magically unlocked) i have lost several boxes there, Cal please confirm case went away or they wont believe, After that i decided to fill 2 separate cases with 125 the 2nd set i never touch it is just insurance that if one goes away i still have other. also i am stocking 1 more because when i move i may be without internet 60 days so i am filling a 3rd set of cases that way me from mcdonalds or a coowner can fill it. because at mcdonalds i will not have time to fill kegs.
But this whole mess is over about 12 kegs a day that is what i average, somedays more somedays less. for instance refilled this morning at 8 and almost 9 now i sold 10 kegs. you can verify by going to vendors.uoex.net recently sold and scrolling more. The one thing that is not lost on me is over weekend i had special sale 2750 on that day i recounted i sold 35.
The bee nerf killed kegs i used to sell 400 kegs a week would get special orders for 300. now since nerf i have had 3 special orders two for 10 kegs orders and a huge one 425 kegs. that is one and only large order since nerf about 2 months ago. kegs i made were not to fill but to lower price of empty kegs. i dont care if they sell or not i have price that was 1500 down to 800.
I wouldn't sell if did not want to help other players.
i talked to another player last night who was my closest competitor he sold at 3500. he said he never sold one. he previously messaged me and told me how he was doing and losing money at my cost. he was buying regs off stones. i messaged him back and told him to cut cost buy regs from npc vendors. make your own kegs. he has a nice store but he said he was paying vendor that wasnt making money. For same reason i moved pet potions on my keg vendor. When bee nerf hit i announced that i was cutting prices. i figured that if players made less money on bees then they had less money to spend on potions. i was 4000 when nerf hit first thing i did was quit buying kegs off exex cornbread was selling them for 999. i lowered price 3400. i had a player that kept advertising lower then me by 50 in turn i lowered my prices 50 we finally agreed on 2800. his shop was in georgia's. however georgia let teleport stone so and after that no sales at all. he quit so i started working prices back up. i went to 3000 after a couple of months 3250 and probably would have peaked at 3500, i took it in step as to not alienate my existincg customers. the goal is to keep my customers. the few that are left.

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
You can also make kegs afk which is not comparable to killing balrons.
If this market will be regulated it also has to be macrochecked

Re: hello everyone! keg prices way too low
i was looking round easy uo scripts last night and non of them work for our shard as when making the kegs it looks for tinker tools but on our shard they are tool kits. so only people who know what there doing will have scripts that work, as I don't I have to make by hand
