Blacksmithy

We know GMs are busy creating new facets, but this is an idea about blacksmithiny anyway, as I know crafting is going to be made better.
Currently crafted weapons are used much less then looted. As I understand, that's because they both can have only one spell hit by default, and it's not possible to put many more spell hits on crafted weapon. So suggestion is to make life/stamina/mana leech more useful. While leeches still have important use now, crafted weapons could be distinguished by making them actually reduce opponent's life, stamina or mana. Opponent who was drained out of all stamina would have SSI decreased and maybe move slower. Life leech could leech more hp, as it doesn't seem to be very useful now compared to bandages, and life leech could be never resisted. That would be magical abilities, so if a blacksmith wanted to make a weapon with, for example, stamina leech actually leeching, he would need to encrust some valuable gems into a weapon, but created weapon could still end up without such leech.
This way crafted weapons could be more useful, without making them either uber or same with looted weapons, which would be hard to balance.
That would be just one way to make crafted weapons better, but it has it's advantages imho.
