Question about relayers

Hullo.

Quick question for you smartie-pantses out there, re: relayers. The wiki says, "Armor, Clothing, & Jewelry will not retain offensive skills such as Hit Lighting, or Hit Life Leech. Any properties listed under Weapon Hits on the information gump of a levelable weapon will not apply to a weapon re-layered to a new piece of equipment." That suggests there's no point adding any of the Hit lightning/fireball etc stats to a relayer that will be, say, a shirt or a kilt. Fine.

However - my first relayer (a shirt) has had the Hit Lightning stat of my weapon transferred over to it, and moreover, I'm finding that - on occasion (it's only 1%... I stopped raising it when I read the above wiki entry) - I'll be fighting non-magical foes, and a bolt of lighting will strike them, presumably from me. My current weapon has NO hit lightning, so the only thing I can guess is that the 1% hit lightning on my shirt actually IS doing something.

So, I guess my question is two-fold: 1) does anyone have any views re: that wiki entry? (2) can anyone offer an explanation as to why I'm landing occasional hit-lightning blows, when the only hit lightning anywhere on my character is the 1% on my shirt?

Cheers.

Matt

It doesn't actually remove things like hit lightning, but they don't get used at all if you relayer the item away from a weapon.

Or at least, it shouldn't be used.

Yeah, that's exactly what I thought, but I've just seen a couple of peculiarities lately (I even got a lightning strike hitting a bull). +Req came and did some testing, and we didn't see any lightning, meaning either the whole thing is in my head or the pressure just got to my shirt and it couldn't pee. Or something.

There's been some fuss about shirt slot relayers before (resists anyone? ) but considering, for example, i got a relayer with 58% physical area in it and another one with 42% fire area and never seen em proc so i think it's not possible, unless it's somehow glitched (dunno if that happens).
