Hi all,

I am a long time fan of UO and have not played for a number of years i am encountering a few issues and wondered if anyone would be able to help. I have download Mondains legacy version of UO, i have extracted the files for this server into the main games folder which is located in programs 86x. I bring the client up for the server and create a password and account name but once i am through to the loading screen it comes up with message saying " There is some problem communicating with origin, please restart your client" I have checked that the correct login file is there etc, also my AVG removes the client.exe which is a pain because it believes its a virus any advice on that?

thanks for advice, i have already used the pack with your client version and extracted into the UO ML folder

umm maybe im mistaken but it shouldnt be tryin to communicate with origin? and just add an exception to your avg for uo client. if it removes the uo.exe then obviously you wont be able to play

I have no sorted the issue with AVG out now and it is not effecting this just confused as to why im struggling to do a patch. thanks for ideas though

I sometimes see folks get that 'communicating with origin' error if they've selected the wrong server/server info, or if they're trying to log in with a username that is already in existence. If your username is something that may already be in use, send me an email to [email protected] with what you're trying to log in with and I'll see if it's possibly already taken.

Are you running the UO client as administrator? also do not let it patch from osi that could be the problem also. I am thinking its the Administrator though. There is a step by step post in the forums under help that I did (jamkul) if you need it.
