Scuba,
Your virtual memory should be three times the amount of ram that you have in your system. 1Gb=1024mb so your virtual ram should be 1024 X 8 = 8192 x 3 = 24576 for both of the entries in the virtual ram. Also UO needs to start in the first 2gb of virtual ram so shut down all program including browsers that may be running and then start UO first with Razor or whatever it is you use. Once UO starts then you can open any other programs that you use. Some programs startup in windows and hide, you may need to close them also.

Are you trying to connect with UOSteam then? That's the only time I've ever heard of people having that problem.
If it is a UOSteam thing, there was a recent thread where people posted workarounds for the problem:
http://www.uoex.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8064. Be warned that none of them might work for you but apparently they work for some people some of the time, so I guess they're worth trying. Good luck scuba

hello, I had an issue with virtual memory too. I went on the web and typed "not enough virtual memory with windows 8" and found a few trusted sites that showed me how to resolve this. The instructions were very clear. A step by step thing that even a novice like myself was able to do. This was an issue I had when I started up razor ( not every time but enough to cause concern). It has been about 3 weeks now and I have absolutely no more issues.
