Gems!

Ok...I have seen this on a number of shards so it may now be a standard....
BUT...just in case..
Can we have random gems drop when mining?
Once you have GM(or better) mining you have a low rate chance of a normal gem type spawning.....
Its not a big thing and I really doubt it will effect the economy at all....but I always enjoyed it when I got one.
Call me pathetic.....i don't care!

doesnt sound bad. some regular gems, and maybe an arcane gem here and there... as a rare drop ofcourse... one with AFK macro mining could fish up quite alot of gems.

Not sure about the arcane gems......But sure.....
The gems would only be like one per vein or one every other vein....So not so heavy it will make you millions....
Would work even better if you could use gems to power something?
I've seen that used before...

there's this problem. if the gems are not very rare, like you get 1 per vein (1/20 chance), for afk macroing that's alot of gems in 24 hours that can be then sold to a jeweler. basically anything that can be afk macroed should be disabled to sell to NPCs.
confused

what is the difference between the gems we currently get of monsters (i.e. dragons and such) and arcane gems?

Normal gems are just light cash....they can be sold to the NPC jeweler for cash....
Some shards allowed you to make jewelry with magical properties like forging with runic kits for blacksmithy.
Arcane Gems are used in Arcane Clothing, this then uses up charges rather than using regs for magic. but clothes only have so many chagrges and arcane gems are used to recharge the clothing.
The Juka are usually one of the best for arcane gems.
And as for the gem drops.....It was only a suggestion.
Just something I saw on another shard and thought was a nice idea.
