I hope that everyone who posted about this is still interested. Let's meet at Britain Bank at 7:00 EST on Aug 25th. Make sure you arrive in your normal, NPC-vendor bought gear. Put all your normal gear in the bank - this includes rings, earrings, relayers etc. We'll have to use the honesty policy.

Personally, I plan I buying regular leather armor (from a tanner - I think there's one in Trinsic), having a bow, katana and halberd.

I think we have 6 people interested at this point. Be sure to tell your friends about it this week, and maybe we can get a big crew together.

Hi All,

I'm pretty new to the shard (say just over a month) and am having a blast so far. I've noticed that the reliance on good gear here on Excelsior is pretty substantial. I don't think that's a bad thing, it's just different. It seems to me that good enough gear can really take you through most mobs. I was thinking that it might be fun to do a normal gear dungeon run. That is, only gear you can buy from vendors. I think it would be a real throwback to the UO of old and would also be an exercise in teamwork.

We can decide what dungeon to do based on how many people show up for the event. I was thinking Saturday Aug 25th, say at 7:00pm EST? Who would join me?

So far, the only rules I have (which are negotiable, I hope this is a collaborative effort) are:

1) Gear must be bought from NPC vendors. Nothing crafted or leveled. Leave ALL your usual gear in the bank.
2) Upon finding a better weapon/armor during the hunt, feel free to use it.
3) No pets, except normal mounts (llama, horse).
4) All are welcome.

If others suggest rules, I'll be happy to discuss and add as we go. I am quite looking forward to this event. If you want to discuss in game, pm Crozius Isengrim.

This sounds like it would be a pretty cool event. We have been here almost a year and I think a little throw-back type event might be fun. Now to see If I can make it. Hope to see you there. As far as the gear goes you have to be careful because some vendors do sell some crafted pieces that are really good so maybe it should be you have to buy it from NPC Vendors instead, just a suggestion.

Glad there's at least some interest. I changed the rules to indicate NPC vendors - this is what I had originally meant, but the more explicit the rules, the better. Thanks for your input, and I look forward to seeing you there!

Great idea for an event! Getting people working together is always a fun time. For me, Saturday night's generally aren't good. But someone post pics!

I do have an Alt character with only GM Combat skills... which was made for these purposes... if you feel like doing a run sometime pm me and I'll switch to him. I suggest doing Deceit as the liches over there are pretty darn powerful!

Nice Event but I don't think I will be able to join :/ If Anarchy will join tho don't forget to get his head if he dies and a pic..... Would be a damn good pic of Anarchy in a Iron Ringmail suit

Yes it's still a go. It's a ways away now though, so mention it to your friends in game. Advertise it! Maybe we'll have a huge turn out and can try a high level dungeon.

August 25th is GW2 Release date :S!!

One final question I have is as we slay things will we be able to swap out our armor for better pieces? Also will Macro's be allowed to be used such as the healing macro with Bandaids?
