Jailed for trying to pm my friend while i was scripting. I missed it maybe becuase the text format is grey and blends in with my loot script. wonderful well maybe i wont be back to this shard i was just starting to enjoy UO again. All becuase i have someone who maybe mad becuase i point out there lack of leadership skills but hey such is life love you guys

The item was a wall, placed immediately in front of your character. The text is a random color. You received purple, neon green, blue, and gray. In your *four* afk checks, which take ~10 seconds a piece. The answer to your afk question was "12", which takes next to no time at all to type. You failed to respond, and it was your second offense in 5 days so you were given the standard 2nd offense punishment per the codex. You PM'd me when you were moved to jail, so your sentence was cut in half also per the codex.

Once again, nobody on this shard is above the rules. The afk check system is simple and it works just fine for anyone who is genuinely paying attention. It isn't subversive or 'out to get' anyone. When you're leveling or gathering, be on the lookout for talking inanimate objects within 1-2 tiles of your character, and answer them immediately.

Also, change your signature.

I was responding to a friend pm to be afk i would have to not be at my keyboard. i respond the second i was jailed which should be proof enough i wasn't afk. but as i told you in a pm im color blind so i cant see all the text colors you send me. if you send a pm i can stop what im doing asap to responed. which would do the same as sneaking in afk checks. the one you hit me with before i almost missed and i was look right at the screan when i got it. but hey whatever im sure you have nothing against me enjoy your victory.

my real point is the check system is flawed it doent matter what i feel about any member of the staff. if you have it send a pm with the same respond time needed it should solve any issue of people not seeing a check when they are trying to talk with people or even have issues beyond there control. but hey i have no idea what im taking about i have never had to solve issues to make things fair

FYI, for the purposes of 'afk checks' in the game, you are considered afk if you do not respond to the afk checks. It does not matter if you are at the desk but tabbed out of the game window, or looking at something other than your screen, or just not paying enough attention to see the check. If you don't respond, you are deemed 'afk'. As for your suggested method of afk checking, there is a glaring flaw in that plan. PM'ing makes a sound which can easily alert people who *are* afk to come back to the desk, thus enabling more cheating. That is exactly what was happening - to the extreme - back when that was the standard form of afk check. Thus, we came up with a new method. One that almost nobody has any real problem passing if they are paying attention. Even newbies, the colorblind, folks with text-to-speech, and those who do not speak english as their first language are able to pass this afk check.

Now you are colorblind all of a sudden. Sorry dude, But to me. Your just mad because you got caught, When i get afk checked, I stop what I am doing, If i have to i read the journal and answer the question. And seeing as though she said 2 times in 5 days...You should have already known what to look for and knew to answer right away. Either way codex rules say that. Also says to respect the staff no matter what. If you have a problem basically to go to an admin or coordinating admin. Also says pretty much not to bring your drama here to the forums where we dont really care or want to read it. TY.

its cuz i cant responded any other way and you dont need to defend the issue isnt with you you have been fair and in just as long as i have had dealings with you. this is my first major issue i have had on this shard and i feel that its being up held by a poor so called leader of this shard. but hey if +C does care and wants to let some of the staff ruin his shard then so be it. its a tred that i have seen in my short time back but this place is not the same. which is to bad becuase ive had some good times here and have met some really cool people

She is not a so called leader, she is a Seer. She IS a leader here. She has contributed more to this shard than most staffers who have come and gone, and is about to contribute more than you know. Just because YOU cannot learn from a warning and you are unable to accept responsibility for your actions doesn't give you any right to say what you just said. It also doesn't give you any right to try the situation in front of the court of public opinion on this forum. You insulted me along with her, just now.

Be wise, and accept the consequences with more grace from here on. Or...leave....

Vets should know better and help create a positive gaming environment if they truly care about the shard.

We, the players, are directly responsible for how the shard ends up.

Let this then be a reminder to people old and new that we hold the key to a lot of influence

and that with this power comes responsibility to set an example for others to follow.

i admit to my guilt on the first offence i was wrong i would have given my wep and gold with no response. but i wasnt afk this second time and feel like that the system is flawed. If she can add to this shard in other ways let her but to have her police everyone forces to have to be a leader of at lease this shard but when she shows in world chat that she shouldnt be then i cant help but to speak out. I am sorry if i have offended you +v but if you cant see what i am talking about then maybe you should just be making events and content to this shard.but i hey my leadership has been tested in the field of battle so i must be full of crap. this shard is dying and i wish I could help
