Mining Radar?

It has happened again!!! Ive woken, from a Deep Troubled sleep, to the Flash of Lights and stars, and the Thunk sound of somehting heavy and metalic hitting flesh... Then I am falling... falling and falling... but this is a dream, and you never hit the ground in your dreams, so i am not worried.. until the pain of hitting the hardwood floor floods my brain.. I blink my eyes, and my wife is standing over me, brandishing a cast Iron frying pan, that has a dent in it I dont remember seeing the last time I fried Catfish in it...
I somehow manage to sit up, and push my back against the wall, and ask.. what happened???
She waves the frying pan at me menacingly.. "I have no idea, you tell me!!!! All I know was that you were standing on the bed, ripping a pillow up with your teeth, and screaming... "I KNOW I missed a Platinum spot!!!!!!"
She wants me to go see a councilor, and she wants me to get rid of the computer!!!!
But, I think i have the answer!!! Cyber Popes Mining Radar! When you mine, it maps the locations in UOAM for you, it also shows you the grid so you can mine more accurately!!!!
The answer to my prayers! The One thing that will save, my sanity, my marriage! And most importantly My COMPUTER!!!!!

the question is.. how do you use it? I downloaded it, but it appears that it is a secondary program for??? Razor? Where do I put it?
Hopefully someone can tell me, I must go now, i have a doctors appointment, it seems I have a concussion, must have been when i hit the floor....
Knite

PS. she said something about Love Llexa as she fondled the dent in the frying pan... :(

Yes, I'm pretty sure Razor is required to use it. You also need to have done the .reg file thingie in the RAZOR HOWTO folder of the UO install directory for it to work properly. Pretty sure the ore-tracking feature doesn't work because of all the custom ores we have.

When you do get it up and running make sure you set the grid to 6x6. If you get the 'purple tile' error after Razor works let me know and we'll set up a playdate with TeamViewer. :dance

uhh... ok, I will look up the .reg thingy.. what do I do with the script I downloaded?
Got Razor and uoam.. and as far as 6x6 I think I can figure that out, think i can figure out how to add the custom ores as well.. but no clue what teamviewer is all about :P

ok, maybe my confidence was over rated just a little.. its up and running, it locates my current character, shows the X and Y coords, shows correct character stats etc, but is all purple in the little radar box thingy.. I looke dthat up, and they are talking about .reg files and creating strings... i dont like strings.. strings usually mean the wifes not happy that week so if at all possible i try to avoid strings....

setting up the new ores should be doable if this works as explained;

;Change number of ore types to the number of ore types you have total
set %Number_of_OreTypes 10
;add these 4 variables for each ore type
set %NameOreType10 BloodRock
set %ColorOreType10 Red
set %TextOreType10 BR
set %TextColorOreType10 Yellow

Only set it to 14 etc... but, the string thing.. that has me worried

edit;
All 14 ores installed, used html codes for colors and should work fine, i just need to figure out the reg edit thing now...

Edit 2;

well hmmm... the fix for the purple tiles doesnt seem to work...

as posted;

Well I created the Exepath file in the 1.0 folder like you guys said, still wasn't working, then I thought of maybe putting other files from the kr folder to see if it could fix it.

In the end I got it solved by having both the Exepath file and the StartExepPath ( equal to the one in the kr folder), in the 1.0 folder. EndQuote

I already have the exepath and the StartExePath in the 1.0 folder so cannot create another, but, I do not have a folder named Kr in there??? Under my Ultima Online folder in the Registry editor I only habe the 1.0 file.. It also has an Ultima Online Third Dawn File, but it also only has the 1.0 file, there is no Kr file under either of them, both 1.0 files have the ExePath and StartExePath in them.....
Razor seems to work just fine, however when i start it up, i do get a message saying it cannot find a suitable Cliloc file? would that have anything to do with it an dhow do i fix that?

Look for the folder labelled Ultima Online - Excelsior Shard. An easy way to find it would be to right-click > properties your UO shortcut and click 'Find Target'. You'll see the 'RAZOR HOWTO' subfolder in there, which has a few pre-made .reg files and instructions on how to edit a custom one.

Aye, those are modified and in exactly as it says, other than it says it cant find the cliloc file it works perfectly. Ive just gone back and checked just to make sure.
Edit;
Nope, I lied, I found one line that only had a single slash. I changed it, and i have Ore Mappage!!!!!!! TY for making me go back and look at it yet again!!!!!!!!

NOW!!! How do I get this thing to recognise my Mobile Forge?
Its also Showing the locations correctly, and shows them depleted, but is not tracking those locations....

So, any ideas on how to get this to track with UOAM? Or how to get the mobile forge type to add it to the list?

I'm not sure about how it tracks with UOAM, but it does remember the spots you've mined in the past. You can import and export the spot list in the Options (for changing computers or sharing your list), maybe some day we can plot all of Sosaria! :P

As for the mobile forge, you'd have to write in a sub to manage that. When I get a minute I'll take a looksie.

EDIT:
Sorry Marge, rest assured +Rayne got me back for it. ^^

kk, thx Blaze. its set up to mine from a fire beetle, and has multiple other types of forges but it wont see the mobile. maybe because its in the pack? I tried setting the moble on the ground beside me and it still doesnt see it. It does see static forges....

This radar would be awesome for me if I could get it to work.

I can get it to mine and I setup the extra ores using the list on the wiki. I noticed the number in the script is the number of ores not including the unknown unless I got that wrong.

Problem though is soon as I finish mining one space it turns the entire radar RED. (not purple).

I noticed the red means depleted but the whole upper right hand corner 6x6 doesnt get depleted after finishing one does it?. I even checked a mined a few over and it wasnt depleted unless I was misunderstanding the mapping. (Thinking maybe I was nuts and forgot how UO did mining.)

Or does it and im psychotic again?

I would think since its got individual question marks for individual squares that you can mine them one by one to find whatever.

Really like some help with this. This looks like lots of fun. Im a geek toy kinda guy but not good at figuring out something this complex from scratch. To be honest I havent played UO in five or ten years but recently found out about the independent shards and thought hey that could be fun. :D

Thanks!
