I can be playing, and suddenly lock up, meaning my character cant walk etc.. yet, I am still watching people talk, and run past etc,, I cant respond, talk back, nothing. after about three minutes of this, I get the dreaded Connection lost gump. I try to log in, and the client hangs. I finally alt ctrl delete out of it, try to connect again, and connect instantly. The only time this is annoying is when I happen to have pets out and fighting. Ive already been through about 100k in oints to repair them. am getting afraid to do any type of Combat with pets. Thx for any sggestions. Knite

Hmm I used to have this happen but that was a long time ago and all my resources were maxed out. Now I have the problem that ill be playing along and my modem resets itself.....and my ISP sais ohhhh thats normal....So im killing say Dreadhorn...all pets killing me healing then i get to see my modem shut down....15 minutes later i get to come back to a few dead pets and if im real lucky the corpse still there...when im real lucky it will come back quick and i just keep on truckin.

I have both those things happen to me frequently. With my ISP I don't think there's much to do, but the problem KnitePrince mentions is very annoying and I think it has nothing to do with my ISP or my modem. I would also appreciate some help on this matter. Thanks.

Hmm, this is either an issue in the connection or in the core components of client-server communication, so I doubt i can help much, but let's try a few things...

First, do you both have the 5.0.9 client that can be downloaded from the frontpage?
Then, what hardware do you have (just how many GHz and MB of ram)?

Just to mention i had the very same problem just before the crash yesterday. Never had it ever before

i use razor and sometimes when clicking between razor to make a new macro and back client stalls - sometimes crash sometimes come back in 2 mins - <win vista ultimate plen of proccesor and mem> but what your describing sounds more like client spam freez like being Quued this happens to me alot when i run macros via razor TOO fast especially when not just using skills but activating objects .....

In the past I've had the client freeze and lose conn when my anti virus dicides to kick in. So now I run on Linux don't need anti-virus and everything runs a lot smoother.

The only draw back with using linux is that you can't trigger macros using the ctrl/shift/alt keys unless Razor/EasyUO/etc is the active window. You can map regular keys to macros but that mucks up chatting . I get round this by creating EasyUO menus that I can click on to trigger macros and have things like self bandage as a standard uo macro.

Pentium 4, 3Ghz, 1GB Ram running Windows XP SP3 This is a fresh install about 3 days before I downloaded the game from this website.
UOAM doesnt seem to make any difference one way or the other. When I run Razor, i get jerky, character looks like hes doing the slide, so I only run Razor when macroing, otherwise I start with the regular client 5.0.9.
Speed test shows me running a line speed of 1658 kbps Download and 718 kbps upload, this is averaged from 4 places using speakeasy - speed test. www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
There are no other programs on this computer, all e-mail etc etc are on a different computer. this one has a singular purpose.. to amuse me

Hmmm well sometimes for the last.. i would say, 2 months, i get this situation:

Will be playing, then become frozen, then all the sudden BAM all this backed up chat starts flying or backed up actions start attempting to follow through. Basically it feels like a world save, but it's not a save. I did find out that the less that I try to do when im frozen, the better recovery i have when it unfreezes.

Also when I used to use razor on another server to open corpses or auto collect gold from the ground i used to get a horribly backed up queue from champs especially, and then when it all became unstuck, half of the actions I had just done were not actually done at all. So i missed out on a lot of loot or whatever thanks to the queueing of razor. (yes, i have a love/hate relationship with razor).

Suggestion if you use razor:
Choose the option about not showing multiples of the same system message (i'll try to remember what the actual option is called later). That way you dont have to worry about razor locking up AND the actual chat log of your client freezing up from all the spammed system messages.

Anyhoo, not sure what else could cause the freezing... but GL to you guys!
