do they even drop as loot , I can't find any

Yes they do: Deamons, Dread Spiders, Ogre Lords, Lich Lords and Elder Gazers drop em (with the exception of level 7 & 8 which only drop from the chests), could be some other monsters too, generally the same mobs that spawn with the chest also drop em. See the wiki page for more info
