So I'm thinking about getting started on BODs and was wondering if you guys had some tips on the reward parts. Specifically I'm thinking of stuff like 'If you do BS always try for 1200-1350 points to get the X rewards' or 'when doing taming go for the +5 animal lore clothing' or simply 'dont bother with fletching' and stuff like that.
My purpose is to make money off the items as I really do need to upgrade my gear, so I'm not thinking about what might be nice to keep for myself yet.

Re: Starting BODs
It's going to take you so long to get a large bod and the matching small bods of anything using color resources that you may as well do it as soon as you get a complete set regardless of the reward.
Consider blacksmithing. There are more than 1100 distinct small armor bods that fit in to large bods when you factor in quantity , ingot color and quality. To get a decent reward, you need 6 specific ones from the 1100 and the matching large bod. And you have around a 75% chance of getting a weapon, shield or helmet bod that doesn't have a matching large bod.
It's not quite that bad. Once your skill is high you stop getting normal quality bods for the most part, dropping the number of distinct bods closer to 500. But you get more iron bods than anything else and iron bods are pretty well worthless.
Fletching bods aren't as bad. There are only two or three large bods in each of the quantities, colors and qualities. Taming is not bad either. There are no colors or qualities.

Re: Starting BODs
1. Choose the Large BODs which are worth completing in your opinion. If you are offered one which is not worth it, don't waste time on it.
2. Complete the poorest quality small bods so you can turn them in to get a better one. I have been known to buy full books of crappy ones to do this.
3. Be prepared to spend lots of time crafting and even more collecting resources. I spent a couple of years on Fletching before branching out.
MAD Village on Ice has a display house for each craft if you care curious about the rewards.
Good Luck!

Ok, I'm beginning to understand why the awards sell for so much...I'm actually amazed that they don't sell for even more considering how much work this is compared to just grinding ballys or Slaarion...
