I'm pretty sure the crash came right after a server save, so that's good.

The crash was caused because of a bad command input. There's a command is very powerful, allows us to do a lot of good but it can be very destructive, as you have seen. We've had accidents in the past but they were easily fixable with the same command, this one unfortunately wasn't.

Since the shard was just frozen (the command was running) when the backup archiving should take place, it didn't archive the latest save, so we reverted a total of 2 hours.

I am very sorry for this, we also have stuff that we'll need to do again as this time was reverted, but well all i can say is that you can be 100% sure this wasn't intentional, we're just human and we make mistakes.

when the server goes down, what exactly happens to your character and the data in the server?
im wondering if your player isnt around any monsters but is in a monster area, if they will continue to be there unractive..

@Beanah Vulgaris: it reverts to last save. whereever you where and whatever you were doing at last save.
