Perhaps it's time to shop for a new provider? Do you folks have a choice or are you stuck with a solitary source?

SERVER IS UP!
We've reverted: actually to the point of 5 minutes before the shard wen't down. Also if anyone came online after it came online, around 2:40PM shard time, and it was up for half an hour, we reverted those 30 minutes because it was best to go to the 5 minutes before it went down for the long period, so that i could save all unshrunken pets and fish the player's corpses.

Well i have ways to get on the internet, but it's not the type of internet that could support the shard. Even if so, i would only go messing around with that if we were cut off for more than a day or two.
We have I think 5 big providers, but from what i hear this one is one of the better ones. Also the only one with optics, so it's much more reliable than copper wire.

Ok folks, yes it's down, not to worry though the "ShrinkPets-on-ConnectionDrop (tm)" kicked in so all the pets were saved. I've just been at the computer so i've been able to save the contents of 6 player corpses.

This ISP maintenance downtime was supposed to be announced on their website but I don't see it, but well i've called them and they say it will take 6 hours That is suposedly until 6AM shard time (midnight EST). If such a thing happens again i think i'll set up a secondary ISP for redundancy (takes a month to get it so it wouldnt help at the moment).

Well I hope there's something fun on the TV to pass the time, i think there's a possibility that the server comes online before the above mentioned time, so maybe trying every hour isn't a bad idea, but well if not sooner then you can connect at midnight EST.

Just an official update:

It's online now, but note that it may still go down for even a long period of time, so i advise that you stay out of dangerous areas.

The ISP's maintenance will end at 7AM shard time, that's 1AM EST, April 17th 2009.

, im 100% sure that coli is promply aware of this downtime and i believe its isp issues this time not server based problems hang tight people

It's acting like RUNUO froze, the ISP is still up and active. It's just there is no interaction with the server.
