ahh im too long out of school im guessing its a 32bit packet but cant figure out the whole lsb msb parity check either that or im way off im gettin what looks like ip address but from your clue im guessin im way off

Glyph, care to tell me what lead you to the assumption of 11ED?

I figured that binary needs to be written in octets (series of 8 numbers). As the number itself was not a true binary as written, I started to think about what you said about deciphering it will tell you the prize.

Thinking that the usual prizes are ED's, it should be a number value, followed by a space, then "ED". Then I realized that right in the middle of the false binary number were 5 zeros (which everyone should know is the last 5 digits of the "space" in binary...lmao..j/k...only nerds would know!), but that the sequence wasn't complete without a "0" added the to front.

I then looked at the rest and broke them out into groups of 7, and then added a 0 to the front of each to make them complete octets.

Or maybe just hanging out with BlaZe is affecting my thought processes more than I realized...

In other words, instead of "01100010110001010000010001011000100"...

break it into groups of 7: 0110001 0110001 0100000 1000101 1000100

If you add a "0" to the front of each group above, you get the following:

00110001 00110001 00100000 01000101 01000100

Which in binary translates into:

11 ED

i thought the same as you glyph but then i thought if it was a packet of data it would have a parity value a lsb and a msb but depending on how you write a packet it could be read from right to left the standard way but some people do write the left to right i tried both ways got confused and gave up lol

Who knows. I might be completely zonked. It's been a long week and all I can say is thank goodness the weekend is here!!

Yes glyph was correct. It was encoded in the true ASCII, which is 7 bit. The 8-bit ascii we have these days is actually called extended ASCII.

"11 ED" it is.
