Well I would like if things aren't too easy... gathering the bones to get into doom should require some extra time, not just leaving your pets out at "all guard" and having a claim macro running.

Having a customizable claim is possible with easyuo... not sure whether it's better or worse to have inequality between those that use easyuo and those that don't, or making it easier for everyone...

even with a custom claim system, as an admin you'd still have control over what you allowed to be put on a claim list.

one line of code could remove adding bones to the list, I just run a razor auto loot for bones.
Target nearest corpse then have it find the bones item id and move to pack.

Another interesting thought would be to pick up reagents..

Also, why not increase the [claim radius? Right now, you have to click an actual corpse.. maybe if you edit [claimall, you can permit the ability to claim "all" within a.. say, 5 tile radius. Makes it easier than macro + clicking everything you kill

Again with Colibri, this is really not necessary, as it just becomes too easy, among other things.

True, but it might encourage people to use it more often.. which would help ease the issue with people not using it.. a few corpses doesn't hurt, but when enough people don't use [claim (which seems to be a problem at times), it can cause quite a bit of server lag.

Obviously its up to you and Coli in the end, but I'm just thinking about the long term benefit of the shard.

A clean shard = a less lag-infested shard..

Fertile dirt, zoogi fungus, ointment: are now enabled and do get looted on the shard with the [claim command.
When can we expect this to work?
I'd love being able to [claim jewels especially :)

I don't know why people wouldn't use claim during typical hunting. In addition to grabbing gold, ointments, and bandages on a corpse, it trashes the loot and gives you a gold bonus (additional gold bonus). But on to what I wanted to post...

There are a number of auto-looters on Easy UO's website. I have seen some for searching corpses for daemon bones, and there are many for jewels. Some even have looters that allow you to specify what bag to place the specific loot type into, so I assume you can target your gem bag and all you have to do is stand next to the corpse and let it do the work. I will tell you what we really need...

I think we need a general gameplay macro. When you go out hunting, there should be a random chance for what place your character will go to. Say, there will be a list of peerless, champs, noble location, abomination location, and whatever else you specify in the script's list, and apply a probability value to it. Then, the script randomly selects what to do, and it will do it for say....2 hours. It will pathfind its way to the location specified and then execute a self bandage and "If hits < 40, then [cs touchoflife target self" macro. In addition, have a "select closest target and attack closest target" macro. With these two, there could be a looter for the specific item. If a player comes and says "Hi" or, "Can I have the next spawn", depending on the combination of words used in the overhead chat, a random response will be selected from a list of pre-programmed responses to reply to the player.... =D

Joking aside...there is a fine line between making gameplay easier, and making gameplay obsolete.

licos omg lmao, i was all into it, an thinking how insane that would be, then at the end .... yes, i do think some people have a setup like it, in the 2 or 3 years (i forget how long ive been here) ive been hunting, i seen a small select few do exactly what you said... an if you try to talk to them, theres no response, but after the kill an u say what the program reads such as "thanks" they auto respond with "=P" i sorta caught on an thought what a strange individual, but thought nothing of it... funny how some programs can run our gameplay an we can be at work or somethin...

on a side note, wasnt there a talk about having a "claim bag" so when you claim/claimall it all goes into that bag so its not like a bomb blew up in your pack an you find extra weight under runebooks or pets etc... anyone know what the end result was?

Sorry to bump an ooooold topic, but I figure it's preferred over creating a new one.

I would like to suggest adding a limitation to [claim and [claimall where you can't claim someone else's kill, at least not right away. Ive seen this become a problem in an Event and I'm sure it crops up in other places. I've seen this system implemented so that you could claim your own kill immediately, but not the kill of someone else until maybe a minute or two had passed. I'm not really sure the length of the timer, because it's been two years since I last played UO.

Just a thought.

This is the way that claim (claimall) works right now. If you try to claim someone else's kill, you get a message that you don't have the right to claim this kill. There is a timer that is about 3 minutes, then the kill is open to anyone.

Well that's odd. I've been able to claim things that other people have killed immediately following. I've also watched people claim things I've killed immediately following.

A few things that can go about that...

Not sure about this one, but if both parties do nearing a close amount of damage, it becomes first come first serve (like i said, im unsure about this one)

Another thing, are you in a party or something? That enables your party to loot

Otherwise, that is odd...

Here's my understanding of the subject and why sometimes corpses can be [claimed right away. Many of the events happen in Fel, even though Fel is PvP disabled on our server it may have some of the other rules in place. For example if a criminal or murder (red name) makes the kill then that kill can be looted by other players right away. Things that would fall under criminal could be something like angel, wraith or polymorph since it makes your name grey, things that could be murders could be energy vortexs and other summons which have red names.
