Server down ?

5 mins ago my screen froze and now when i try to login the client stucks at "verifying account.."
Are the servers down or being attacked ?

That a server is not available can have 2 reasons: either it was shut down or it is being attacked by DDOS-attacks.
It's ok that you obviously never heared of them, but then don't call others paranoid only because of the reason they ask if it one is.
Many sites and gameservers these days are attacked by DDOS, its realitively simply to do for frustrated people or extremistic weakheads that want to make the world better by doing so.

And your explanation sounds like: "eat or die". Not satisfying, i search for answers, not for chatter.
But when you are so easy to satisfy, congrats.
I imagine you don't get pocketmoney from your parents and they tell you:

"no reason needed. this is a my purse. I don't pay you this time."
"Ok thanks mum."

I am a network admin, for a government entity (that is no lie). I am very aware and used to various type of attack attempts. I have been dealing with them, in one form or another since around 1995. What I am saying is that a server down does not automatically mean an attack. there is no need to jump to the worst conclusion just because it went down.
When you do you justify and label it as an attack? When you can prove it has occurred. Otherwise, it is a server down unless otherwise indicated.
If I had a dollar for every time someone screams, "I think it's been hacked!" I could have retired already.

But hey, if you want to go right into personal attacks, and start blabbering about parents and moms or whatever, I am willing to jump in.

A while back the shard was under DoS attack, that is where a lot of lag came from. It may have caused the server to crash a few times, that I don't know. Its also well known that the server will on occasion crash. There's a reason that the save schedule is directly tied to how stable the server is.

If the server doesn't crash / stays stable for a long time, saves are every hour, when the server isn't the most stable the saves are every 15 minutes

I'm sure we will find out later what happened if Colibri wants to share that with us. If he doesn't, so be it!!!

I don't care if you don't believe me, it won't cause me to lose sleep. and I didn't state it as some attempt to gain +1 points in the skill of people liking me.
I do work for A government entity, not THE government...
And I have worked IT for around 20 years, and have seen the best and worst that it has to offer.

Again without warning the server is not reachable. i was on the way into a dungoen, glad i did not reach it.
Can you guys give out free item bless deeds please ? Dont want to loose leveled weapons because my body is rotting while i cannot get on the server.
