Well, after a week of working on a large 6x20 taming bod, I was able to turn it in today in hopes of getting a Power Scroll. Of course I received 700 leather instead. I checked the exex market and the leather is worth just under 100K. From what I can tell, a 120 taming PS is worth over 2 million.
I have had a few people tell me that it is so easy to make over a million gold in this game, but no one is bothering to tell me how. I hunt for hours and hours and I can barely scratch 300K gold. What am I doing wrong? At this time, I have one mule as my pet. I hunt fan dancers in Tokuno, shadow/ancient Wyrms and lich lords. I found a Balron under the Fan dancer dojo, but out of three fights, I only won two of them.
Where should I be going to make better money? If BODs are not producing Power scrolls, where are people getting all of them?
How is it done?
Re: How is it done?
its a chance to take 120ps also you can get organics which you can sell about 800-1000k.
Place a house then start bee hieve.

Re: How is it done?
At least with the organics, I could sell them and get a 110 PS...Can't do anything with the leather. I have to learn how to raise bees and I have no idea how expensive it is to start a hive.
Re: How is it done?
To have a chance of getting a 120 Taming / Animal Lore / Vet requires that you hand in 6 x 20 bods... not only once but at least a couple of times, cause it is all random. Leather comes handy when you need to go from GM Tailor to Legendary... I say you keep it. Beauty of BODs is that you never know what you gonna get. You might even get 130 Pet scrolls that sell for millions as well.
Sometimes what it requires is that you explore more... read more.... Balrons are one of the gold cows in this shard. Most new players will get pets and farm the balrons for days....weeks... Making a million is not hard, it just requires patience.
Beehives setup is a follows, you need a beehive scroll (7K each) which you can buy from beekeeper, a water pitcher (10 gp?) from taverns, flower (2500 ~ 3500 gp?) most TC/MZ vendors sells them and a house to set it up. When your beehive reaches max capacity (100K bees) it yields 13-15 raw bee wax and 40-42 honey per beehive, which you can sell to the beekeeper in Vesper or Skara Brae. You can literaly make like 9k to 10K per beehive...so if you have a substantial amount of beehives you can make about 1.2 to 1.4mill a week. NOTICE.. this won't come easy since bees are very needy and you basically have to take care of them every single day (at least for me)!
Gold is not hard to come by... just requires exploring and asking question. Forum if full of good information as well as the wiki if you haven't read it. Good luck!

Re: How is it done?
What exactly does your play time look like? if you are solely working on a 6x20 deed it should not take more than a few hours, yet alone an entire week (possibly the dragon one will take longer just because of angering the beast and limited number of white wyrms but still not a week). There are also several player houses with tons of animal spawns that make it easy to tame almost everything for bods. The creatures in the bod do not matter, you get the same rewards for a 6x20 with farm animals than you do with a 6x20 with dragonsBatt wrote:Well, after a week of working on a large 6x20 taming bod, I was able to turn it in today in hopes of getting a Power Scroll.
6x20 rewards from the wiki:
Pet powerscroll 130
Powerscroll 120
Bio engineering book
Ethereal leather 700-800
Organics 5500-6000
so 2/5 chance you won't get 1mil+
on the topic of getting a million gold, how old is your account? if you are under 21 days old do you know about the newbie organic quest? you can get tons of gold from that (about 50k per hour, and only takes maybe 20minutes on the high end to do the quest per hour).
on Hunting, you say you have a mule? gotta spend money to make money. buy another 4 mules so you can kill things much quicker to get gold quicker. Do you know of cleric spells for healing? get your spirit speak to 100 or higher and say "i pray to the gods" in game to bring up a gump for spells. Particularly you are looking for touch of life which you can make a macro to with [cs touchoflife . This is the largest healing spell in the game and helps keep your pets up

There are several activities that are very lucrative on this shard. Basically, I would split them in two categories:
1. Activities that are time consuming and that some will find boring: Animal breeding, beehives, BOD, ressource gathering, crafting, etc.
2. Activities that requires hunting skills: Balron runs, champ spawns, Mage Inquisition quest, peerless hunting, umbris camp...
You will find that all theses activities will not turn in the same profit for every players. For an example, if you have a well organised balron book and the ability to drop them very fast, you can turn in about 300k per hour, while a less experienced player migh be able to kill 10 per hour for about 30k.
So most activities can turn in a good profit for one player while for an other, it can be -EV (expected value). It depends on how effective your strategy is and how advanced your character is. It applies to taming BODs as well. You can turn in a great profit/hour if you select the BODS you will complete. 6X20 farm animals takes a few hours at the most and half of the rewards are worth millions. 6 X Dragons will take days and you might die quite a bit in the process...
Yes, getting the leather as a reward sucks in all cases

I hope it helps.

My account is about 35 days old, I am kinda new to quests, I have only completed one (for a bag of sending) I would love to buy more mules, but I have only been able to find the one, the vendor I have purchased it off of has been empty for a few days. I have learned about the cleric stuff and have my spirit speak up to 100, though I burn through mana like crazy (its because of my gear). I was hoping to get my taming up to at least 110 so I can use the nobles, I keep hearing that they are really good when in a pack.
I would love to do champ spawns, though I have never been to one. I do not know what to expect there, or even where they are. I have no idea what peerless hunting is, I do not know where most of the quests are. Hell, I have only found one Balron...and he can kick my butt if I run out of mana.
I guess I will just explore more while slowing building up funds for a 110 PS. I will be damned if I put more money in a large bod for the off chance that I will get what I need
Re: How is it done?
Hey Batt,
It can be tough breaking through, but keep working at it. Once you do (break through), you'll find things so much easier. Something that will help is to look at your armor and jewelry you have now. Be on the lookout for armor that has good lower mana cost (LMC in the range of 6% or more for each piece), good lower reagent cost (LRC as close to 20% as you can find - looking for total of 100%), and good reflect physical damage (RPD as close to 15% as you can find). Any other stats, like Luck or Self Repair (SR) are just bonus, because you can use GM smith (for metal armor) or GM tailor for leather (preferred). Now, the difficulty will be finding all these stats on each piece you're looking for; but, be on the lookout so when you find one, you can grab it quick. Try also to balance your resists and get as close to max (70) as possible. The idea with a suit like this is that you won't have to worry about reagents at all, and you will use less mana when you're casting healing spells on your pets, and you will reflect some amount of the damage whatever you're fighting is doing to you! There are other benefits, but this is a good basic explanation.
Next, get a levelable weapon if possible... or at least something with mana leach as close to 50% as possible. Other weapon stats will help, but stay away from area of effect hits and discount any value for dispel - dispel is basically worthless use of points. With this mana leaching, you'll replenish much of your mana as you use it - nice, huh?
Next, you need to look at building up your dex to increase the number of hits/minute. Another benefit of a higher dex is quicker bandaging... meaning, you stay alive longer
Let's move on to jewelry. Look for +8 dex stuff. Do whatever you can to get dex stuff early on... if you can also get some strength bonus, do - but, dex is most important. If all you can find within your budget is Dex/Int, buy that... just get dex going, and make sure dex is as close to 8 per item as possible. Also, some modifiers to your resists, hit chance, damage modifiers, etc, are all awesome and bonus here. Too, there are other rings that can benefit you while building skills or that might allow you to control a better pet, etc. Consider picking up a ring/bracelet/earrings (maybe necklace if you don't use gorget) or two like this if you think it may help you down the road, and you can afford it.
Next, while building this gear list, work your vet up and use a mixture of vet/clerical spells to heal your pets... conserves on your mana, heals quicker, and cuts out downtime. Just be careful where you stand relative to the spawn. Once you get your mana worked out (I'm still working on that myself, but building mana leaching on a nice bow now) you'll be rocking the spawns. Then, you'll get into the special moves of your weapons of choice, and how they enhance your damage or other weapon effects. This can get pretty mana-intense as well... so, either buying weapons with mana leach or just building it into your levelable weapon will prove invaluable.
Good luck and feel free to pm me in game, and I'll see what I can do to help ya.
