Hello All,
It is time now for me to change a two handed weapon into a one handed and not sure how this is done.
I know i have to get a special scroll to have this done, I am just not sure what to get.

relayer deed; 500ed
just think long and hard if its worth one handing. its an expensive change.

To follow what Alex is saying:
It costs 500 ED to change a weapon to one-handed, and then you'll spend another 500 ED relayering an item into the shield slot. Sure, you just gained all the relayer stats of the shield slot now, while you got absolutely 0 there before, but it cost you 1000 ED to do so. Relayering any other slot, including a slot with a GoC item, is probably a much better value and provides you better return per ED for the increase in power you would receive.

Alex, Kevan, Thank you very much. I was about to make that expensive mistake. In your thoughts, what can I do to gain more power? Can I use a item change dead of the Head Band of power into a sash or boots?

Re: How to change a two handed weapon to a one handed.
you would need a relayer deed too to do what you are stating; however, I do not recommend relayering a head band of power. The item with the most str is an SOT. You could think of relayering an SOT into certain places. HOWEVER, I would work towards getting 220 dex and all GOC pieces (minus the head piece and maybe gloves u use pug gloves) before relayering other items.

You're going to get a lot of answers on this, but here's my opinion on a path for players to take:
Mules/Nobles < 220 Dex Suit < Imprisoned Pets @ 400-600hp minimum & GoC Gear < Relayers
Now, once you get to that relayer stage, which you may not be at yet if you don't have a 220 Dex Suit, Imprisoned Pets, and GoC Gear, then you have a few routes to go:
Some people recommend Bone Crusher relayers, which you would be spending an extra 200 ED, on top of the 500 ED relayer, for a total of 700 ED to relayer it. You gain an extra 3hp per Bone Crusher vs. other weapon relayers. To me, not worth it. To many, they feel the value is worthwhile, but I don't think it is until you have all your relayers done. Why? Because you gain 3hp per Bone Crusher for 200 EDs, yet every 2.5 Bonecrushers you have the 500 EDs for another relayer, which will give you a LOT more than 9hp, when you consider you'd receive 20hp for 1 relayer plus all of the numerous other stats. Your first few relayers may want to get you to the Damage Increase and Swing Speed Increase caps as well. Yes, with enough dex you won't need SSI eventually, but at lower gear levels it's very helpful for damage output.

You gain an extra 3hp per Bone Crusher
You also gain 32 points you would have to spend on adding Str to another weapon

Re: How to change a two handed weapon to a one handed.
Yes, but in that case you could argue that a person needing resists on a relayer would be saving 280 points by getting a 4x14.You also gain 32 points you would have to spend on adding Str to another weapon
At the end of the day, one thing is indisputable:
A person with 3 BC relayers is not as powerful as a person with 4 non-BC relayers.
Now, the argument to relayering only BCs is what happens later: can you recoup the value of the non-BC relayers when you want to replace them.
So the debate of BC or not to BC is: gearing faster now vs. saving EDs later.
Me? I'd rather worry about the potential loss of resale value of a non-BC relayer when I have every slot relayered. One, I may not even be playing by the time I get to that point, or two, that point might not happen for another 12, 18, 24 months, etc. I'd rather enjoy the additional power gained by having more relayers now without the extra 3hp.
Also, if a BC equivalent, or even better than BC equivalent item pops up in the future then the 3hp value for 200ED becomes diminished tremendously. What if the new lands drops a 12str item with a similar drop frequency to the BC?
Re: How to change a two handed weapon to a one handed.
Also don't forget the stats people miss when going all BC's (since they sacrifice points to DCI/HCI, resists etc.). Talking about the non capped stuff: RPD, SDI and Enhance Potions. At least for me it is important to have those on every relayer...Kevan wrote:Yes, but in that case you could argue that a person needing resists on a relayer would be saving 280 points by getting a 4x14.You also gain 32 points you would have to spend on adding Str to another weapon
