Bulk order deeds BoDs question

Post by Drinyen »

I recently came into about 1.5k bods along with various +crafting and gathering sets from the IDOC event. I am looking for tips and tricks to start getting into BoDs. Dos and donts. Is leatherworking a better market than blacksmithing bods? Is there a market that makes it worth while to even do them? What's the best chance to insure high end rewards from doing these deeds?
Any advice and help is appreciated!

I separate my BODs by crafting type and resource color (spined, horned, etc.). I keep both smalls and larges in the same book and use BOD book filters to browse the sizes I want.

BOD rewards have dropped significantly in value for the vast majority of items, possibly due to scripts and multiple accounts. The rewards that still hold value are Blacksmith: Powder of Fortification, +5 Smithing/Mining gear, the Sharpening Blade, Bag of Resources & +60 skill hammer.

For Tailoring, the valuable rewards include the Warp Weft Shirt, the 120 Tailoring Powerscroll, +5 Skill Gear, the Gargoyle Knife, Runic Sewing Kits, Bag of Resources, and Tailor Florin (special currency). Some tailoring BODs also give special clothing items like the Posh Belt (+1) and Dapper Robe (+10), among others with varying bonuses. These special clothing items can be sold to NPC tailors, or you can sell them to me for three times the NPC offer. Some of these items, like the belt, have unique graphics but cannot be used for relayer or appearance change.

Carpentry rewards include Evil Deco, Stain of Durability, Carpentry/Lumberjacking Powerscrolls, Runic Saws, Bag of Resources, +40 Skill Hammer, and +5 Skill Gear. There is a reward on the carpentry rewards chart called "nails," but it doesn't exist—if you get assigned that reward, you receive nothing. The skill gear for Carpentry and Fletching is split between Carpentry/fletching and Lumberjacking, but Lumberjacking skill gear isn't worth much, if anything. Carpentry BODs are particularly challenging because of how they're set up, making it take much longer to complete sets.

Valuable Fletching rewards include Sealant of Durability, Fletching/Lumberjacking Powerscrolls, Dip Tubs, +40 Skill Hammer, and +5 Skill Gear.

Taming rewards consist of Taming/Veterinary Powerscrolls, Animal Lore Clothing, Leathers, Organics, and Pet Powerscrolls.

There is a rewards chart for BOD rewards on the UOEX wiki. It may seem complicated at first, but with time, you won't need to refer to it as often.

I forgot to mention that the best way to build up your BOD collection is to have all of your alts also collect BODs. To increase their chances of getting the best BODs, raise their skill to over 70 (I think, but I'm not entirely sure it's 70). Filling trash BODs and turning them in allows you to claim another BOD immediately, as it resets the BOD timer after each turn-in. Alts with lower skills can claim BODs every hour, but the BODs are of lesser quality. Higher skill alts (over 70?) can claim BODs every two hours, but of higher quality.

It will take time to build up a good BOD collection even with all your alts and the head start from IDOC finds, but I think it's a fun hobby (most of the time :lool: ).

Very impressive! I keep narrowing down which BODs I bother with, to limit how many I am dealing with. I'm on a Fletching binge at the moment.
