This thread just got bumped by a spammer, I deleted the post. But back to the initial topic: Nice to see success :)

There are a lot of slovenian inventors and their inventions, but because it used to be better marketing to present yourself as german, they are not so well known as slovenian. This guy made a lot though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Flo ... %8Di%C4%8D
His successful inventions included the perfume atomiser, and the plastic photographic slide frame. [...]
His other successful inventions included a work-out bed and plastic ice skates. He also invented the plastic zipper (1948), and the airbag (1957), neither of which were successful at the time because of the quality of the materials available.[3] Both were perfected at later dates by other inventors.
And when the covid situation clears up, apparently it's a great travel destination:

I originally posted this because the Lordstown Motors complex https://lordstownmotors.com/ (formerly General Motors) is located about 7 miles from where I live and noticed the link to Slovenia where you live. It was quite a blow to the local economy when GM closed their Lordstown plant in 2019 putting many of the 4500 employees out of work or necessitating their move to other GM plants, like my brother who had to transfer to a plant 2 states away in Tennessee. The closing also had a huge trickle down effect on suppliers and other local businesses.

We're hoping Lordstown Motors becomes a success as an electric vehicle automaker but recently they have had a few setbacks such as where this prototype caught fire on a road test https://www.wfmj.com/story/43303425/lor ... otype-fire and more recently where it failed in a highly touted race in Baja, California https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusi ... r-BB1fU7yj.

Lordstown, Ohio has nothing comparable to the old world charm of Slovenia though, unless you enjoy cow pastures and cornfields.

I used to work for a small plant that supplied the GM Plant on Lordstown with windows for some GM vehicles.

Seeing this post brought back memories of growing up in NE Ohio!
