July 18th 2018

FIX/UPGRADE Treasure map book: map sorting issue, decoding treasure maps in the treasure map book, unidentified maps are now still shown on which map they are, the book remembers who decoded a map, the gump has a "add map" button so that maps can be added by target,

FIX All Swamp trunks should now be unlock-able
UPGRADE swamp trunk added lost lands support
UPGRADE swamp treasure not added lost lands support
FIX Swamp Trunks can now be flipped

FIX Fishing inside of houses should no longer work
FIX Strength potions running out no longer leave you with more health than your max health, same fix applies to Intelligence and Dexterity potions
FIX World teleporter default TeleporterState
FIX black order high executioner no longer crashes clients
UPGRADE OpenTile can now be set if it trigers on players or on other npcs
UPGRADE doors can now be set to permanently Locked(even if you use a key to open them)
UPGRADE fishing swamp trunk lost lands support
ADDED black order turnkey as a seperate npc
FIX Hiryu/LesserHiryu karma
FIX Lesser hiryu can now be tamed by bushido characters also obeys bushido characters (relies on the bushido skill along with taming skill, whichever is greater)
FIX Grammar error on the gravedigger Quest
FIX RevenantLion Karam inverted so it should be correct now
UPGRADE Better weight and item checks for crafting
UPGRADE Mobiles no longer count locked containers in to the available gold
FIX Aquarium deco should now stay in place and not reset every restart
FIX Tailoring recipes various name adjustments
FIX Paragon chests now have weight 2 stones

July 25th 2018
FIX World teleporter sometimes took you to another destination, if the other destination was very close to where you were going
FIX Removed a section of felluca from bein able to be used in swamp tresure notes
FIX Exex deposit box now shows a detailed message about what you deposited. The message is now shown whether you drop it onto the deposit box, or if you open the box and drop it into the open container graphic.
FIX cooking recipe typo
ADD Teleporting closet (not yet available in-game).
ADD Voodoo doll (not yet available in-game).
FIX Doom rare chests sometimes became invisible.
CHANGE Hunger no longer affects mana & hp regen rates.
FIX Zoological statues displayed "something went wrong" message even though they were all ok.

July 27th 2018
FIX Gold amount displayed in character status another attempt at a fix, seems to be ok now.
FIX Caching issues with achievements database - some achievements still got periodically reverted after being achieved, in certain circumstances.
FIX Vendor Stone (currently used for tailoring guildmasters) issue with buying multiples of an item, and the auto-restock issue.

August 8th 2018
ADD Item reservation system, a sort of "dibs" for items - if an item is unexpectedly dropped to the ground, it is temporarily reserved for the player whom it was intended for, to prevent snatching. This works on: dropping any item on the ground it is reserved for a short duration. (more in description below)
FIX Issue with some systematic items, which shouldn't display in the container's item count, but still did. This also fixes the Bracelet of Sha'am, it now counts only as 1 item even if there's bracelets inside.
FIX When using meditation, if your weapons get disarmed, they are placed into your backpack, overriding any limits (cant drop to the ground).
FIX Zoological creatures no longer get booted out of the house when customizing.
FIX Bags of meat and other special recipes should now work as intended
UPGRADE Treasure map book now knows if the treasure is in the lost lands look for a [L] next to felucca
UPGRADE Guild dye tubs can now color bandages
UPGRADE Tailor keys can now hold flax
UPGRADE Wood workers keys can now store kindling
FIX Swamp treasure notes now keep encoded status if the server restarts
FIX Excelsior Guards should no longer mess up your hair color, if your hair color was changed it should be back to normal after the restart
UPGRADE dream catchers can no longer be added to storage keys
UPGRADE fishing school should now function as intended
FIX black order turnkey no longer drops 2 keys
FIX Event scheduler system optimizations and various improvements
FIX A random math problem in fishing
FIX World teleporter issues where a shop teleporter is too close to a permanent teleporter
FIX Issue with crafting - repair deeds didnt work since the last restart (few hours)

Item reservation durations: The durations are not yet displayed on an item (when you hover your mouse over it), we have to first make a relliable periodic refresh for this, so for now it just says "Temporarily reserved for {Player Name}".
There are two basic durations:
- 10 minutes for when an item is dropped to the ground unexpectedly: champion gold drop, buying from vendor when your backpack can't hold the purchased goods, and whatever uses the standard "give this item to player" functionality (e.g. tokuno artifacts, gravedigging, mystical sextant quest npcs, applying potions on beehives, harvesting crops, boat keys, etc etc..)
- 30 seconds for when you drop any item on the ground yourself - this functionality is "beta" - every now and then we get reports of players dropping an item to the ground (that was intended for the exex box for example) but the item is dropped to the ground by accident, and immediately disappears, meaning that someone probably took it. If there's parts of the game where dropping to the ground, and allowing someone else to pick it up is required, I will likely change this so that the 30-second reservation works only near exex boxes and vendors.


August 17th 2018
FIX Ball of summoning remembers the pet even after the pet has been shrunken for a long time.
FIX Beehives no longer consider parts of addons to be flowers.
FIX Parrot redeeding issue, that made it lost the levels.
FIX Fletchers now require the proper skill level (25 fletching) in order to give you a bod (requesting a bod with less than that produced no bod at all).
UPGRADE/FIX A temporarily reserved item can now be released (single-click and select Release). Items dropped onto packanimals that fall to the floor now become reserved to the owner, not to the pet. Reserved items, when dropped to an exex deposit box, now get regularly added to the exex balance (and not get stored as a separate item).
FIX few minor code cleanups

August 27th 2018
FIX Strangle spell - now you see a message when it's been applied on you.
FIX Ball of summoning displayed an error message in a specific situation.
FIX Compatibility between leathers and the item restrictions display (e.g. polar leather didn't show "reserved for ..." even though the reservation was active).
FIX Shooting arrows at certain creatures no longer makes the arrows that fall to the ground to be reserved for that creature.
FIX Pets didn't get hungry (since last restart).
UPGRADE Town Center vendors - a vendor chair has a random cooldown before a new vendor can be placed there. Added a 30-day cooldown for placing a vendor.

Town center vendor restrictions: we've received several reports recently, the town center vendor mall has become so popular that some players are renting the spots on a macro, only to sell them later. Although there are some more in-depth changes we want to make, as a quick fix to make this more fair, we added two cooldowns:
- 30 day vendor rental cooldown: you can only rent one vendor spot per month at the town center. When you rent a vendor spot, the town center remembers the date and time, and you can only rent a fresh vendor 30 days after that.
- short-term vendor chair cooldown: when a vendor spot becomes vacant, the chair becomes locked for a random duration, anywhere between 10 and 60 minutes.

Only one player at a time can look at the vendor rental terms, this should prevent the double-vendor-placement issues that happened a few times now. There are also some short-term cooldowns here, to prevent someone looking at the contract for a long time, and with it preventing others from renting.


August 31th 2018
ADD Two harvest seasonal quests (still in need of some final polishing, we'll annunce when it opens).
FIX World Teleporter issue with it creating two teleporters for a shop rental.
FIX [emote command had 3 wrong sounds, also changed "bs cough" to "mutter".
FIX Player Vendor price entry menu - currency was changed on the item even if you clicked "Cancel".
FIX Model in the hue preview room crashed clients.

September 5th 2018
FIX Harvest quests fixes.
FIX Identation in item mouse-over properties.
FIX Bod Requester added to the item description that it follows the regular BOD request delays.
FIX Issue with not being able to place items on towncenter vendors for different currencies.

September 7th 2018
FIX Harvest event fixes.

September 13th 2018
ADD Karate belt quest (not yet available, needs some technical adjustments)
CHANGE Harvest quest rewards incrased
ADD The scarecrow crafting harvest quest
UPGRADE Vendor stone (new vendor menus) now show name of vendor in the title, current page number, and page count.
FIX TrashItem duplicating issue.
CHANGE Animal trainer now has both the "stable" and "claim" options in the context menu for faster stabling.

September 19th, 21st and 25th 2018
FIX Recipes as currency on vendor stones are now supported as the "uses-remaining" amount, no longer need to split them into individual recipes to convert them to a the recipe book.
FIX Scarecrow crafting quest allows you to collect more scarecrow parts even after you've collected hay.
UPGRADE Help system upgrades for us to have less overhead handling issues, improvements to the Error Reporting logging format & interface
FIX Cliloc issues with ~3_nothing~
FIX URL parsing now ignores emails (used in the help system)
FIX Reserved items now become unreserved as soon as you lift them. (actually, this was active for a few weeks now)
ADD Harvest quest crazy dave alternate ending.
ADD World Boss for the harvest event - needs live testing.
FIX A bunch of technical fixes and improvements.
FIX Items relayered into a shield no longer act as a weapon. Fixed issue with resistances not adding up on certain layers.
FIX Error in fishing when your hook loses last of it's durability.

Bump for today's restart.

Probably the most notable change is that hunger no longer affects the HP & mana regen rates. We created two new cool items that we'll make available soon (once we figure out where exactly, hehe).
- The voodoo doll adds a little PvP to excelsior - you'll be able to perform harmful acts on the doll which result in a harmful effect on the other player - this is going to be "opt-in", so if you dont want to participate, don't worry, you're safe :)
- The closet will allow you to travel between other closets and make new friends :wink:

+C, don't forget to change the message on the hunger gump. still says 50% slower hitpoint and mana regeneration when you are hungry.

And to add to that, not only did it fail in the poll it was one of the very worst half done changes ever put through on this server. There was supposed to be much more food related stuff from +Nyx and with her and her new lands not on the horizon it's not going to happen.

the only way i could have even possibly enjoyed the endless and rampant hunger stream being allowed to continue was if total starvation could kill you - goodbye banksitters :woot: seriously though, were it to come back i would hope that there would be an opt-out work around like most other mini-systems...

Bump for Friday's restart which featured a few technical fixes.

@brhanson2 thanks for the reminder :)

On the subject of food overall, yeah it didn't pan out as expected. We just had new players asking why their mana won't recharge, and anyone with a macro just used a script to keep the characers well fed. There was market for fish steaks though.

To be honest it was quite an annoyance for, at least, relayered folk with regens going down the drain.

I think food stuff giving temporary buffs is cool though, could make the buffs last a bit longer to make it more viable (for low/mid "level" play).
