Re: Anyone looking for ingenious treasure maps
Infernal, or ingenious? Your thread topic says ingenious, but the pic shows infernal ... what's your best price if buying in bulk?
Re: Anyone looking for infernal treasure maps

Re: Anyone looking for infernal treasure maps
So, the infernal ones aren't as valuable as people seem to think on vendors, despite being ostensibly rare.
It's a crafting material for the Treasure Map book (Big Book of Adventurous Treasure Hunting And Deep Sea Reclamation) but the limiting factor on these being made is *definitely* the Ancient SOS, not the infernal map. I'm guessing 100+ maps to 1 SOS in the supply since fishing is not consistently profitable and few people do it.
You can get some rare deco items from them and maybe sell those, but otherwise you're looking for people who want those deco items and are willing to buy an expensive lotto ticket to find them.
There's also a guaranteed(?) relic drop from those maps, but most of the map relics are worthless and the few that are expensive (Blaze of Death, etc) are still worth less than what people ask for the maps.
The map before (Diabolical) drops 27000-36000 gold plus some other random gems/reagents/etc. So you're looking at like ~31500 gold on average (just under 40K with the bonus 25% in Felucca). No info on the wiki about Infernal, but I'm gonna guess that 60K is the absolute max for Felucca as I've never seen two gold stacks in a treasure map.
Keep in mind that people often mark up Felucca maps because they have a higher chance to upgrade to a higher-level map. I'll guess 50%. So the value of the gold and items from them also includes 50% of the tier above, 25% of the tier above that, etc.
Most people seem to price Devious+ maps at a price that includes a single upgrade, so the only way you'll profit is if the map upgrades twice. Infernals have 0 chance of upgrading though.
I have no idea what the value should be, but I probably wouldn't pay more than 50k each personally which probably strikes most people as an insane price until they do some research.
Then again, I'm pretty much only doing maps for gold/gems and whatever reagents/raw materials can be scrounged from the other items inside. Relics are frankly not worth dealing in and the deco market is the most fickle in the entire economy.
