Casting Druid Spells

Post by Alibaster »

What is the secret to having a high success rate when casting Druid Spells? My Animal Lore is 120 and my taming is 117.7 but I still have a high failure rate. What am I missing?

Well I don't have a Druid spellbook, but I use the scrolls and never have a problem.

You need to have 128 animal lore to have 100% chance of casting all druid spells. You can vast most with 120, but with 128 u don't fizzle volcanic eruption and friends.

Sorry to pull up an old topic but im still fizzling at 130 animal lore and 120 taming. ( I know taming is a damage modifier). What's the deal ? I fizzle both trees and eruption

Double check you aren't being fizzled due to being hit, or cast protection.

Double check timing between spells, make sure you aren't cancelling previous target etc.

I would go to a safe place, no mobs, get lore to 128 and cast the spells slowly and individually, resolving them one at a time. This will show that you can cast them, then it is about tweaking the macro timings so you are not impeding yourself.

The quote you pulled is correct. 128 is the magic number. It is user error somewhere there my friend.

Well, I was 100% sure. But I am now not sure lol.... you sure you aren't just lagging slightly while running your druid macro and fizzling yourself due to lack of pause between VE's?

OK, so I cast a heap of VE's, was 50+ and didn't fizzle. I came here and typed a response, then thought it is a pretty tiny sample, so cast a few more. In the next set I fizzled, twice! So yeah, the long held belief that 128 was the magic number is not correct. Maybe 128 is the guarantee you hit the trees everytime so your VE/Trees macro works, even though the VEs sometimes fizzle.

I guess I use the spell so infrequently I have never noticed and just took that conventional knowledge for granted.

I am now curious what the actual number is...

It’s always been animal lore 128 no fizzle. I highly doubt it was changed. Perhaps the timing on your macro is not set quite right.

That said, with the changes they made about how far away you have to be from the altar, I find it’s not even worth it anymore. It totally ruined champs for me.

id always heard 128 was the magic number as well and the fact that colibri sells a +8 lore sash at auctiions seemed like official confirmation at least to me.
maybe you need +133 that might explain why there is a +8 sash.

I thought exactly the same culichi, about the auction sash etc. I'd been told 128 since i first joined. But I definitely fizzled ve a few times manually and slowly casting it with 128 lore.
