Some people spend their gold on housing, some on deco, and some on gear. I make gold dozens of ways…it’s an all-encompassing strategy. Interestingly enough, one of my most profitable ventures was lending out gold to people last year when we had that mega/grand auction. You just have to know when to play and when to watch.

You weren't the first person to do it, just the first person to advertise. Some folks thought that gauche.

Simple solution: Random spawn of Balrons anywhere within the dungeon not a static location.

Lurg Cave: No recall in or out.

Yamadon: Enlarged spawn zone.

Those 3 fixes should force people to actively hunt the more lucrative pop in/pop out targets.

The recall Penalty for excessive recalling is a great idea but I'm afraid it would impact other gameplay like mining for a specific ore, tmap hunting, IDOC events, etc...

I didn't think of that. Yeah, IDOCing would be totally fouled.

After all the talk about the balrons and the huge problem they are for Excelsior's economy, I thought it would be a good idea to have a list of how much each player has spent during the 2022 and 2023 auctions.

Well, I have taken the time to do it myself, here are the results.

I may have made some mistake in reading the data so I apologize in advance if that is the case, but I will also post the data that I used to get the result as well as the code written in python to process the data.

There will be 3 different files:

• auction.txt: Is the data i used, took from Wil's post in forum after every auction

• auction.py: Is the code i used to transform the data into excel and pdf after that

• auction.pdf: Are the actual results, sorted by the sum of all 3 currencies

Zeee- I was thinking you had not bought anything at auction for the last couple years and were saving up for that totem. looks like that was pretty close to it. and if i had not spent so much on little things at every auction my balance would have been high enough to get that Ancient Composite bow when it was finally offered. *sigh*

Total spent at the covered auctions: 26 billion gold, which had it been a solely a result of donations would be somewhere around $50,000 US.

I missed a couple auctions, so the list is not complete. I still think Muolke is the richest player on the shard. Auctions are not the sole expression of a player's wealth. Nevertheless, I have to concede the possibility that he's only second place.

But be careful because you made a few mistakes, for example considering 2 different names as 2 different persons.

Don't know if there are more, but these are the ones i know.

Also another mistake, was counting twice when i bought the change weapon specials, there were 2 bids because Egore said he couldn't bid so +C auctioned the deed again, it looks like i paid 190M for one and 250M, but i only bought the second one.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to bring up data from previous auctions.

You are right, that's why i posted some names that are actually the same character, and saying Muolke is the richest is not totally accurate... He's been who has spent more gold in last 3 years auction, but we need to take in accout the wealth people have after paying that much money.

In my case i have spent over 1 Billion gold but my actual wealth is Negative 80 millions because a friend had to loan me gold to be able to buy the totem i had been saving gold to buy it for 1 year.

If someone spent 500M but has 1B he would be richer than me for example.

If anyone has time, read through entire post from start to finish (this thread and another one that is active). I need a recap of what has been posted that are FACTS and what are NOT. There are a lot of people feeling a certain way. There are a lot of assumptions. Even with posting data on auctions.
I agreed 100% data is accurate based on who purchased the item. Quite a few have purchased items for others. People that I have purchased items for knows that so don't need to clarify here.

Bottom line is there are people who do not like each other (game playing style). We are all adults. Just because you like someone, everything they said or did is great. Then there is the opposite. Everything is horrible if you don't like them. Read over the content. It could not have been more obvious.

There are individuals I like more than others. But I try my best to stick to the facts.

If I have a script and I tried to sell for 100m and someone said yes, I am not sure I would say JK, wouldnt sell it...or would I go for it?

Can we at least agree to posting facts?
