You are correct Alibaster. It was my intent to attack JW on a personal level. But I suppose you didn't see how this guy postured and bullied me on the forums, along with a few other people relentlessly for having a different point of view on how to "enjoy" the game. My take on playing UO was for entertainment purposes and was rather open minded to possibilities of game play. He and others took it as an opportunity to punish someone who didn't play for competition. Happened for a while, until someone with a + by his name intervened... After what I can only see was a spirited chat between those two. Hostilities seemed to almost disappear completely.

However, JW can't seem to shut his mouth. Proudly pointing out how "He" was the one who really tried to advocate for my permanent dismissal from EX.. So yes. I am acting in an immature capacity with him. From his boasting and his "nose in the air" attitude. I have grown to dislike him very much. I don't care about his opinion, yet he gives it because he knows I don't appreciate it.

It is hard to maintain a forum that always gets derailed.

JW is correct, period. In all online games there is a top tier game set. It is not wise to try to re-invent the wheel. If you can have an item that gives you impossible to achieve stats an doesn't even need relayer it is perfect. If you can't understand the late game relies on reflect damage and spell damage increase, open a thread on forum where people can explain with an excel spreadsheet.

Now getting this back on track:
As Will pointed this was "necro bumped" and what saddens me is that it remains completely valid. Halloween quest open and I go back there only to see the same grind I've done before. What is the point? halloween tokens are completely worthless. We could at least use them to play a raffle for the undead mount that it is on display. Costumes that cant be relayered and pumpkin disguise that is nerfed.

Anyway, this is in the hope of having something changed for winter quest but it seems 1 year anticipation is not sufficient in this server. I'll go train some necromancy to bump this again next year since JW is keeping track of bumping the hue post.

Reading a guide to how you "need" to play, doesn't mean that you "have to". Top Tier gear, and how to play is supposed to be completely subjective in UO. Any version. Including this one. Considering you can do everything with lesser gear and alternate skills than JW and other zealots claim you need. Which in turn is how dedicated a player really wants to be in man hours playing the game. (Some people just want to be somewhere and be not concerned about being the best.) When a place becomes 1 directional, it destroys the game and creates a toxic social environment. Hence why I pointed out this server is not filling up like other ones are. Even +C has the conformist mindset that can cause issues with the development and popularity of a place.

Conformity can be a useful tool to help people get along in larger groups. However, when you are someone who expects it (such as yourself Silent), it can cause people to not stick around as long as they might have if you kept your opinion to yourself and waited until it was "asked for". Gotta keep in mind that people have their own preferences contrary to what you believe about things. Something a lot of people don't consider.

Now that that point is placed up there. You also proved my point with what you said about how this server lacks content. Considering Halloween, as well as the Winter Event have not been changed, updated, or new rewards cycled in. Until +C decides to actually make changes, rather than say he will without any intention of doing so. (Forum posts from years ago show this.) This place will not get better than it currently is.

No new Events, promises of fixing magic, weapons, crafting, and freeing the hues have not happened. Despite being a set of talking platforms for years. As well as times that there where promises to adjust these things or fix them completely. Not to mention the corporate style removal of many liberties and events to push a conformed agenda and create a competitive marketplace atmosphere. (A corporate style financial move that benefits only himself.)

+C is only focused on Auctions and other ways to make money sinks to keep people competing and donating to his server. (What he is currently working on is one of these.) He has shown in many obvious ways that he does not care about server balance, or content upgrades. Which if that is what he wants to do, then I cannot slam him for it. It will work against him though. Unanswered promises do stack up and get noticed after a few years, after all.

I personally don't care what he does with his own server. If I later decide to play here again for a while. (Nostalgia purposes from this being the first UO server I had played in over a decade when I returned.) Then that is my preference to do so. However, expecting me to "humor" anyone with more soft handed politically correct behavior is just not going to happen on my end. I have tried it the diplomatic way. Defending my stance on just wanting to enjoy this game in whatever random none prescribed why I wanted to. Did not work. In fact, it made people attack me more for daring to disagree on how best "I" should play this version of UO. Which is no one's business but my own.

But, this is a lie, this is the great big lie you keep telling everyone and yourself. You can't do everything I can do (it also disproves your verifiable complaint comment when I made that joke in the other thread). You cannot run Wrong, Sgail (solo), the hardlines on the winter quest, Halloween... etc. There are tonnes of things that YOU cannot do on here because you use a sub-par strategy. I can do them with one hand, my macro does 99% of it all due to the huge stats my toon has from using good gear. So please, have a go at us powergamers and min-maxxers for being exactly that. That is fine. But stop lying to yourself and lying to others that you can achieve just as much without the highly powered gear, because you can't. You should start all your posts with "This is a creative and fun way to play, but it will cap your ability to access the really high end content of the shard..." as it would be more accurate. I have absolutely nothing against the way you play, whatever floats your boat man, as long as you have fun, but to claim it is a superior strat is demonstrably untrue.

Make the Winter Account Bound items tradeable/saleable.

So if I am reading this correctly, you're trying to say: "Despite my overpowering intellect, and clearly superior knowledge and ability of everyone else here, I still can't finish the winter quest and want to buy a JoW, even though JoW are poor items and nobody should use them."

You don't actually have any real arguments, just rage. Pure unbridled rage. It's as predictable as it is amusing. It is so weird the way you say I am out on my high horse with a superiority complex when literally all you do is tell everyone else how much more stupid they are than you and how much smarter you are than everyone else here. I think you've shown that very clearly in the last few threads that have devolved into a rage-fueled rant fests. I at least provided reasons why the JoW is the best neck item (and in fact best item you can use). You provide nothing, except "JW IS WRONG. I AM DE SMARTERR ONE HERE" (I think I paraphrased you correctly there? )

As I said, very very happy to be proved wrong on the JoW, I am always after ways to power up and strengthen my character. So please, enlighten us, what do you use on that slot and why?

That's a very good idea. Anything to make them useful would be good, but I love this idea.

In other posts I was hoping to get the seeds or the actual pumpkins themselves that are used in the carving kit added to the Halloween vendor. Due to the server giving +C unneeded grief I decided to quit bothering him for a bit until it is resolved. Not sure how hard it would be to create a a way to turn Halloween tokens into currency for the now defunct autumn quest, but then use that vendor to purchase items.Another possibility would be to move that vendors items to the Halloween vendor, I know myself I would purchase the hell out of the trees. Pertaining to the Winter quests I remember a brief conversation in WC about maybe the possibility of combining past year rewards to create new rewards, I like this idea , I agree with JW on the JoW and one possibility would be maybe merging 2 Jow's to create one that you could relayer into another slot. Anyway just kicking around a few ideas not looking forward to wasting Tokens on the same stuff from the last 5 years.
