Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
this is an all purpose bump post to remind everyone about the deco contest
Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
I plan to participate
It's taken me a while to figure out a movie scene but I'll probably have a submission by late February or early March.

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
since i've had quite a few people message me with this question i thought it best to address it here for all to see
the decoration size can be as big or as small as you wish
just a small room or 15 houses joined together
i dont think the judges will be awarding points on how big or grandiose that it can be
they will be looking for creativity

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
a bump reminder also a slight change
as house to house teleporters require co-ownership
i wouldnt want there to be any possibility of impropriety in asking for co-ownership to your houses
it will be easier if i just get a rune to your house
you can give me a marked rune yourself, but make sure the rune is etched with your name it

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
you only need to be co-owned long enough to place the tile. many years ago chrysanthe and i hosted a house deco contest and we also worried about complications with co-ownership so we just made sure that it wasnt granted until we were at the house to place the tile and then immediately asked entrant to remove us from co-owners list. you could also just have an empty plot for the tiles and grant co-ownership to entrants long enough for them to place the tiles. tiles are so much better than runes its really worth the extra hassle.
you might also want to get an address card from the entrants for mailing out rewards or participation items after the event ends its a bit more work setting up but saves you a ton of time after the event closes in not having to chase people down to give them their stuff. if address book is too much trouble just ask them to place an inbox near their tile anything to make it easier on yourselves when event is over.

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
How do house to house teleporters work when you're not at least a co-owner on each side?
Normally there's an origin (where the scroll was first locked down) and a destination. You can click on either side and select "movement" and then put that side in a new location that you own. You can select "remove" and both sides are removed with the scroll showing back up on the origin side.
What happens when one of the sides is in a house not owned or co-owned by the individual clicking on the teleport? Can it be moved or dismissed from just the side that the player does own?

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
It should only require you to be a friend at the house where the deed is located. Then you can click on the deed, go to the house you own and place down the teleporter. It's been a while but I had a bunch of these at the RMP guild house and I definitely had people linking them to their houses without being a full co-owner. I think I recall some issues with editing the name of the teleporter when not co-owner though.
Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
when we did it for our house deco contest we would start by placing the tile deed in our house then go to entrants house who would co-own us just long enough to place the destination tile at their house. the tile stayed after we were removed as co-owners and either of us could remove the tile at our own houses. when one of the tiles is removed the deed revert back to a deed wherever it was first placed. the co-owner status doesnt matter at all once the tile is placed and can even be moved around by the owner of the house. i cant honestly say that just being friended would work or not i just recall we did it while co-owned maybe we just assumed and never tried doing it friended i cant remember. i dont recall any issues with naming the tile so cant comment on that.Wil wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 8:49 pmHow do house to house teleporters work when you're not at least a co-owner on each side?

Re: DRG is hosting a server wide decoration contest
If you were the one linking the gate you would need to be a co-owner at the destination. But if the owner of the of destination house came to your house and used the deed themselves, you would only need to make them a friend.
