I do not think it is helpful for the economy to be able to put things on a vendor for free.
Also, when someone wants to give away stuff, they can make a chest for free items on their porch.
Personally, I would rather get the tokens for trashing items instead of putting them up for free.
I understand that this is only a drop in the bucket for the economy, but nonetheless, it is my position.

Leave John Warren alone lol, I could care less about giving stuff away most players can't afford it or don't have them time to grind it.

i've received quite a fair few items for free in my time here
and given away alot of items for free
pay the kindness forward

if you want to be selfish and trash an item and get 3 or 4 tokens go ahead
but don't suggest to others they should do the same

We need more charity, not less. I would rather give away stuff instead of trashing it. That little bit of help you give can go a long way for someone in need. This is for both UO and real life. No more Ebinezer Scrooge talk especially around this time of year.

Starting from the point, that most of the items are useless to me, either those created during leveling crafting,
hauled from IDOC or just dropping from the mob.

I can either trash them, or pay for placing them on vendor or set price so low that they will be gone quickly and with benefit for someone.

Plenty on the forum advocate that only perfect 58 times n weapons are wort anything
so what to do with all imperfect one? Hive robes with less than max strength, weapons not so perfect ... jewelry with stat lower than max ...
no market for that ...

I was using such imperfect items for free or cheap at the start so why not pay back the same way?
I am not here to get rich fast by monopolizing the marker

Every item a vet gives for free is an item a mid player wont be able to sell to a lower-mid level player and so on... I remember when I was able to sell crafted armour in a vendor as a very young player. Those were the days.

Well then your going to hate my upcoming Quinquennial Celebration. Were I plan on topping the previous Celebration of over 1000+ ED value in items. Last time I believe this was a milestone with the majority of the shard online and at the event.

Reason:

1 WHY NOT!
2 This boosts player activity.
3 Spreads the wealth. (give the noob a boost in wealth or a new collection)
4 Giving is caring.
5 I'm Sure there way more reasons.
6 WHY NOT!!

For most players there are very few useful items on this shard. Pretty much everyone uses the same armor and to some extent weps. 99% of monster drops are useless. Not sure why +c allocates memory for useless stuff lol.

Some crafting stuff is kinda useful.. like the rare good yumi.. but even those are not really worth leveling :/

You have the mistvale stuff that you can’t really give away.. but only a few things are useful from even that

It’s kinda sad that everyone pretty much has to use the same armor and skills.

I think free stuff is fine on here.

Tokens are easy to get so I don’t see much need to recycle stuff.. it’s kind of a waste of time.

It’s worse on other shards though.. heck on evolution you get so many arties that you can just run through 90 percent of the world map in a weeks playing time.. that one is very lame. People who play here are better off imho

I kinda feel like evo is r*ping the game.. the game should take time.. you shouldn’t ever melee a balron in a week . Most of my time playing was very early and you had to fear ettins .. I don’t think any free shards have ever figured that out..

I could see the arms of tactical whatever going for free.. but I don’t think you are going to find free batwings anytime soon unless someone is making a point.

I guess if someone gave away relayers or something that’s actually paid for outside of the game.

(I gave Aradros his arms of tactical whatever, gave someone else a house right near TC..didn’t even move anything out) because they were new and needed help… I think I gave the same toon a lvl 100 double axe ( Playing as samish..) it’s kinda what you do in this culture
