Hey there! In the last 16 years, have played mostly characters named Fingers, Cyrano de Bergerac and (now) Polar Bear on UOEX. If you know me, I salute you!
I have always had a true love for UOEX and a desire to make it the best place to play UO. Over the last 16 years, I have helped hundreds of new players getting started on this shard. I was the founder of a guild named "HOE" (The Heart of Exelsior), which was at a time more than 30 players strong. I also was the founder of a small guild named LMC (Little Monster Clan). The name of the guild was a reference at the only two members it was meant to welcome : my two daughters who were about 10 -12 years old at the time (they are now 26 and 28!). In French, turbulent children are sometime referred to as "petits monstres", which translates as " little monsters". With time, the guild grew with the likes of Calan Caitin, Reese and Rossi.
Some years later, I had RL hardships which got me to only log on the shard once in a few months from internet cafés to keep my account alive and I gave up the leadership of the guild to Reese to keep it running. This thread is relevant to this matter : viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2609
Today, Junobo has took leadership and I couldn't be happier that he did. First, I invite you all to see his museum. You will find it under the house gates. IMO, one needs to have a lot of love for the shard to put together such an extensive display of what UOEX has to offer. Also, being out of the hardships I have fought against, I am more active and very thankful that I was allowed back in LMC!
The reason of my post is to address some concerns made at the last auction, regarding players monopolizing the good stuff: this thread might put into a different perspective the reason why a player bought for close to a billion an item that was offered. I have always feared that this would happen. This thread was posted 14 years ago (title of my thread, my account is actually more than 16 years old).
