Well, since the Balrons have been nerfed you've seen the players that farmed them the most (6-8-10 hours per day every day) stop playing. Which should tell you that it needed to be done.

Realistically most people aren't going to tell you where to go and make the most amount of gold. My advice to you is get out there and explore different areas.
