Its just a name for pete sake.

Blaze started about same time i did and his name wasnt a problem ..actuly im stunned that it is a problem now specialy if you think about how active blaze helps/helped so many getting started

his forced name change is just plain silly imo

I vote for Blaze getting his name back. I was gone for a week and when i get back i find his current name.... i never thought of his name being offensive, and as many fellow players have stated he is a valued part of the shard. when i started he and arlon helped me get established. as well as they did when my fiance started. to me it seems absurd that he was made to change it. and if i remember right blaze was the one that drove the prices of mules to their current state to where newer players can afford them... way to pay him back for helping youngs out

i agree that blaze should have his name reverted to how it orginally was

I dont want what im going to say to be taken for more than it is, but from what i heard, BlaZe does'nt care about his name change, so why the petition?

But the fact of the matter is, someone was offended by his name, and the shard rules states and i quote «We do not allow promotion of drug abuse.» also stated in the rules «The staff reserves the right to deny use of any name in the game.» +Colibri is god... and you dont mess with a god!

There is also the fact that this is a internationnal shard, which means different culture and languages, which means some might take an innocent name in the contexte of their culture and interpret it differently than others. I for one am french canadian and in my part of the woods a blaze bods was a variety of marijuana (and a good one may i say)

So i guess that was my 2 cents, not voting! I dont see the purpose since the person concerned has'nt manifested himself in the matter.

In my opinion the post should be locked and we should move on with our business.

I've been trying to avoid a statement about this, but since people are either putting words in my mouth or making assumptions of my feelings.. I think its about time to clear the air.

Am I upset? Of course I am, but what can I do about it? There's no argument I can make that wouldn't leave me sitting in an e-jail for cussing out a staffer. I've had the name for almost two years but unfortunately there's no statute of limitations on such a thing.

I appreciate the support from those who cared enough to sign a petition about it, but what good will it do? Sure, everyone loves the guy formerly known as BlaZe Budd but I doubt it makes any difference.


I've given out so much in the past couple years: advice, help, items and the occasional scolding.. A staffer once told me that I was a valuable asset to the community - too bad that BlaZe Budd is no more.

You'll still be blaze budd to us bro ^_-

Sorry BlaZe, did'nt mean to put words in your mouth, i was just stating what i had heard, maybe i should have mentionned that the info was'nt verified... and for the record i am not in agreement with the decision made but like i said, rules are rules... and without rules there is only anarchy left.

2. e. The staff reserves the right to deny use of any name in the game. If a player refuses to have their name changed, we will pick a random one. Should you have a complaint about another player's name, contact the staff. For disputes, follow rule 3.c and 3.d.

And to justify our decision: The word "blaze" means fire, though in slang it's referred to "firing something up". Then, the word "bud", from Wikipedia: "In botany, a bud is an undeveloped or embryonic shoot and normally occurs in the axil of a leaf or at the tip of the stem." Combined with the "blaze" part, it does make it sound very clear. Now, putting another letter at the end: supposedly the word "plastic" would not be allowed on this shard, using the name "plasticc" doesn't make it ok. And whether it's interpreted as "buddy", that too has a particular meaning when combined with the word "blaze". And I'm not particularly fond of the Buddle word, since it could be read as BuddIe (especially since the 5th letter in the word "blaze" is capitalized, one could assume that the 5th word in the word buddie is also capitalized).

This whole debate caused a whole lot of mess (jailings included), therefor I ask you all to give this a rest.
