Do Hall of Fame - or Hall of RPG players
People who do not want to be abused their name will register.
And when someone create new character must read the "Hall of Fame" in order to avoid duplication of names.
When someone create similar name as Hall of Fame, he will be automaticaly renamed to "Change your name - page GM"
And when he will choose new name, he will page with new name to Gm.

Give him back his name.

What the heck? Is this for real? Blaze is a great guy and an asset to this server. Give him back his name.

Never did I think it referred to something naughty. I figured it was always short for something like Buddy.

Some uptight rules/religious fundamentalist must have complained. Things generally are not changed until someone complains or causes trouble.

honestly? wth is wrong with people. Blaze budd is no worse than many of the things stated in the shard on a daily basis. and if he is a veteran player on this shard then you should give him the respect and not take his name away. That is sheer Nazi-ism in my book and I disapprove.

I'm in. All for Blaze getting his name back if he wants it. I have a young son that plays on this server and his name is not offensive. Good luck Blaze though I do not see it happening. I had an alt that was only on for beehives named Naked Cowgirl and I had to change her name.

Let me just say I remember logging on one day to find a new guy named 'Blaze Budd' for the reasons of the shard and the one reason I choose to play here was because it is against everything I wanted to get away from, i.e. offensive behaviour/names etc I reported his name the first day he was here because to be frank it's only one meaning to it however you are wanting to spell it.

I think you have gone a bit overboard to say "his a great guy give him his name back" just because someone is nice doesn't mean they are above rules.

I've never had the pleasure of meeting Blaze, But all I hear is good about him, So I'm not slating him or anyone here just adding my thoughts.

Oh and to finish where I started I think it was +Rayne who who dealt with the situation when I reported the name, Her response then was "Blaze Budd, Budd could mean 'Buddy' I don't see the name being a big problem, unless I get more people reporting it I wont take any action" AND I do believe she spoke to Blaze at the time too....

Also I will add, why after all this time has it just become a problem... I don't understand how not taking action when it was reported deemed acceptable but now after all this time it is seen as offensive, unless newer players have reported like I did all them days back.

And if my memory is correct he also had the offensive 'clover' so to speak as a profile picture on the forums, which again goes back to the name and the whole being offensive thing....

Rules are rules we have a duty on the shard as residents to look over everything and report wrong doings.

But like I said why now... Why so long into it has it become a problem?

Both of the names Blaze and Budd are proper names. It really is a stretch to equate this name to an illegal activity.
Why? As someone already pointed out, the illegal "bud" is spelled differently, and even those buds don't blaze. I think anyone offended by this name either wants to be offended or came in to the game with "buds" already on their mind.
Lets consider the name "Colibri". Yes, its the name af a well known lighter and we all know what lighters can be used for. Being offended by the name Blaze Budd or Colibri is equally ridiculous.

I need to create a character named 'Rose Bud' and see how fast it gets changed. Bud ain't a bad word folks. and Blaze ain't either, it's in the name of my weapon.

On second thought, i'll name my character 'Mary Wanna' and see how that goes over.

do belive if this name was such a bad manner name if would have been changed from creation and not after 2+ years of holding the Char Name BlaZe Budd but let behold a char name Nuggs / as in a herb is allowed belive you need to start seeing things more clearley around exclsior! before slandering a vet's name. +1 < Vote 4 BB >

Well, after seeing the huge amount of responses this case got, i thought it was time to post-reply to add to a good cause.
BlaZe has been playing here for a long amount of time, he helped me and my brother when we where newbs, and i knew that bud referred to the illegal drug, but why would someone EVER consider this offensive, its crystal clear it means buddy, does this mean that if i make a alter char named Cristal, people would start thinking i consume crystal meth? NO!

I say +1 for BlaZe
