On behalf of , i assume everybody, i humbly suggest you let things be and chill out.
i know the frustration of people taking a dump on ones Guild, but at the moment you're doing your own guilds reputation harm.

You have, without a doubt, made your position chrystal clear.
srsly

[edit] Rayne just ruined my post by editing, so in stead of "carebear" it is now a LOT shorter.
(seriously Rayne, you are taking this PC crap TOO far )

Oh well let me rephrase it to "In the last few months". Not everybody we helped is in our guild, you know.
True Old Man, but I don't really mind that LOE members come to me for armor and weapons. i don't mind helping anyone, no matter what guild they are in, but I do think that the point of a guild is not to get as many members as possible, it's about being able to properly take care of each other and protect each other. keeping a standard is not "wrong" it is the duty of any guild leader, to maintain the reputation of the guild they have, trying at all costs to avoid drama and damage to the rep.

I'm seeing now what you just typed Old Man, and yep, I think youre right.

And ftr:
Elite means to have a standard of excellence in which you will not allow to falter but to be preserved and honored. You look for peeps with good skills (which could range from good character, respect, virtues, common sense, etc) to maintain the reputation of the group. this should be the call for every guild.

So, if you have a problem with the word "elite" then you have a problem with maintaining a standard of excellence. and I know for a fact that having this standard is what will create a unified guild, and guild members will really appreciate it. it's nothing to "rise up against", it's something to "rise to uphold".

love,
Llexa

also, Lexa, in this context 'elite' is meant as 'elitist' in the sense of a 'holier than thou' , "my country/Guild/Whatever is better that everyone else's" kind of way

and no, this is never a good thing. (ever)

no, actually it's not how my guild interprets it at all. We interpret it to mean what i mentioned, and in that sense im very proud to be an "elite" guild. I think every guild should have standards.

To be honest , Rayne is following rules we have laid out here on Excelsior and minimalizing any unholy things people might have to say, If it be calling anyone something or even saying anything out off context.

You as a player are here to follow these rules yourself, not just us staff members.

Maybe you should have shown the respect Rayne deserves for blanking out what she thought was inappropriate, and done what needed doing.

Respect the staff's descions, because at the end off the day we are here to protect the shards reputation for being for friends and family, and one off the friendliest shards around.

That goes for everyone.

With all due respect Old Man, Llexa's definition of elite uses no other guild as a frame of reference or criterion. Her, as well as my definition of elite is more of an independent measure of the frame of behaviour, respect towards others, and character of a player. Why wouldn't one strive to become "elite" in the sense of this definition, considering it entails becoming a player (and/or guild) that is respectable and honourable in the eyes of others and itself? This concept supersedes all wealth and experience. It does, however, focus on how a person treats others on the shard, manages behaviour, and reacts to confrontational situations on the shard.

People may call the concept by a different name, but It's still something necessary for a good public image and a harmonious shard.

Wow, Llexa, you are unique. Keeping standarts, huh ? Well try keeping a standart of good behavior and stop worrying about other peoples affairs, how about that ?

it wasnt anything 'unholy', a 'four letter word' or calling anyone anything.
You, sir, FAIL it.

and, in this case, Rayne got *exactly* the fitting amount of respect she deserved. The grammar mess she left behind was cleaned up by me, so neither she nor i would look like an idiot.

Staff decisions should not 'by default' be respected just because they are made by staff. Staff are people like everyone else, and despite their best intentions can make some seriously stupid decisions just like any other people, me and you included. It is the wisdom of the decision that merits or loses ones respect, and nothing else.

that said: i'm now getting out of this discussion, because i'm getting way too much crap for trying to chill adin down with a funny internet meme.

enjoy his fury ... i'm out.

I know I have hardly ever given my opinions on things and I know I'm probbly not a prime example but Adin is kinda right. I like everyone who is involved with this but something people fail to realize is this is a shard of all ages and all types. You DON'T say things without thinking things over and with a lot of people that is a big problem throwing out insults and putting people in situations that can cause problems, whether irl or in the game. So I only ask from now on think before you actually speak.
