Random Thoughts from Cygnus

Since I have been laid off once again, I have more time to sit around the house and think about things and some of that thinking sometimes revolves around our Great Shard. Here our just a few of them:

1. Congratulations to Rae'Zon on the milestone and thank you for holding an event in celebration of it. I wish more of our veterans would do this. Some of you are sitting on piles of gold and cool stuff. Host an event to show your generosity. Why sell it when you can feel good about giving some of it away and helping the staff with a player run event. And for those who don't know me, yes, I have held several events and will be holding another in October. (8 year anniversary)
2. I personally would like to welcome back Rote Leather. We started this shard about the same time and he was always willing to help +Rayne develop new stuff by being the guinea pig. The Pinky and the Brain you see by the casino were originally given to him.
3. There are a few spawns that I remember that do not spawn anymore and I always wonder if that was intentional or just been overlooked due to little traffic. Ancient Wyrm in the lava mountain by Gargoyle City; Ancient Wyrm north west of Lizardman village in Ilshenar; Skeleton Dragon inside ratman dungeon in Ilshenar. I would love to see them be activated again along with more 'helpers' or even more of them.
4. I'll mention this again. I think the Polar Wyrm is being wasted. If it was moved to either or both of the Ice Caves and made to be aggressive, then it would get a lot more action. More than one wyrm would be even better.
5. Adelia - thank you! Even though I haven't met you, what I think you are doing is wonderful and another reason why this shard is tops. And if you do not know what Adelia is doing, then start reading the forums! What's wrong with you?

Sorry you lost your job there Cygnus, Feeling the same pinch myself, after only working a month, they laid me off for no apparent reason. On a side note, I also love player sponsored mini events, having done many hide the check/powerscrolls/ed type events myself. I enjoy being able to give back to the shard and our players in whatever fashion I can. I has been a couple months since I have done this, so expect to see it again sometime real soon. Here's to the best UO shard on the net! OSI can only hope of being as awesome as Excelsior.

Sorry you were laid off Cygnus, I had been thinking about doing the shard harrower event for some time and when I got the skull from Oaks I figured that it was indeed meant to be. I want to thank AcidBern for his generosity though, he gave up his skull so that we could run it twice.

I remember that some of the events I had fun participating in were player events, this is not the first that I've done and hopefully won't be the last. It is because of people like you , Cygnus and Lestat, that I started to do them, so i thank you both for that.

Thanks Cygnus. Happy to see you still around. Hard when you lose work, but it often opens up something better.

Still getting things figured out again, but on my way to being hopefully a contributing force again.

Making stupid mistakes, but am learning from them.
