Some UO short poems.

Blazes of Death Flail
Vengeful Spirits Fail,
Kronos Reins Anew...

Forgotten Stones
Crecent Waning,
Maginica Awaits...

Behold Lord British
Rainz in fire,
Immortal no more...

Sailing the Ocean Blue
Searching for fortunes true,
Alas another shoe...

Monks sitting
A flag waves
or
the mind moves.

A bent spoon
does not exist
only you
and your mind bends.

Tree, rope, mirror, stair.
Climbing up to drop nowhere.
Free, hope, clearer, dare.

So you could have it all, I tore myself apart;
So you could be the world, I handed you my heart.
Homeless and grave, wretched and bare;
Whatever you wish, whatever is fair.

No fire field will burn you, no smite will stab your back;
You'll see I cease to shield again, you'll see I've no attack.
For now you hold, my inner glow;
For now you are, all that I know.

Rush me for mortality, crush me for totality;
Don't you see? Don't you see? Without you: eternity?!
These words are like my eyes ripped out! This cold is like the sun fell down!
Here's my light, can you see now? Here's my soul, can we breathe now?

The first two stanzas were written by Robert Jordan, the rest improvised by many fans of the Wheel of Time.

Give me your Trust, said the Aes Sedai
on my shoulders I support the sky
trust me to know and to do what is best
and I will take care of the rest

But Trust is the color of a dark seed growing
trust is the color of a hearts blood flowing
Trust is the color of a Souls last breath
trust is the color of Death

Give me your trust said the queen on her throne
for I bear the burden of ruling alone
Trust me to lead and to judge and to rule
and no man will think you a fool.

But trust is the sound of a grave dogs bark
trust is the sound of betrayal in the dark
trust is the sound of a souls last breath
trust is the sound of death

Give me your trust, said the King on high
Our nation shall triumph, our enemies die
Trust me to reign with a firm gentle hand
and peace will prevail in our land

But trust is the scent of an open grave
trust is the scent of an unwashed slave
trust is the scent of a souls last breath
trust is the scent of death

Give us your trust said the lady and lord
We will protect you by law and by sword
Trust us to keep your land safe and secure
and We shall ensure it endures.

But trust is the touch of a knife in the back
trust is the touch of the ropes on the rack
trust is the touch of a souls last breath
trust is the touch of death

Give me your trust said the Love of your life
I'll be your lover and I'll be your wife
Trust me to love you and stand by your side
as mother of children, and Bride

But Trust is the taste of a poisonous cup
Trust is the taste of a life given up
Trust is the taste of a souls last breath
Trust is the taste
Of Death.

Standing at the edge of stars
searching for my heart.
Hoping there is more beyond,
lines cut in the dark.
Tracing constellations of
points that we connect.
All those stars and all I see,
is your silhouette.

@Ishamael thank you for sharing that and then -

Another favorite from wheel of time, the song Dance with Jak o' the Shadow (death). Credits to Robert Jordan.

We'll drink the wine till the cup is dry,
And kiss the girls so they'll not cry,
And toss the dice until we fly,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

We'll dance all night until the moon runs free,
And dandle the lasses upon our knee,
And then you'll ride along with me,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

We'll sing all night, and drink all day,
And on the girls we'll spend our pay,
And when it's gone, then we'll away,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

There's some delight in ale and wine,
And some in girls with ankles fine,
But my delight, yes, always mine,
Is to dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows.

We'll give a yell with a bloody curse,
And hug the maids, it could be worse,
As we ride away with the Dark One's purse,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows!

Dark, but i love it: Silent Hill: Homecoming - One More Soul to the Call

Enough with light
Tell me one more time
My blood, your line
Is this you inside?

Death to the living
The flame has no living heart
In the order of life, they know you there
As you saw it, your plan, a real shot in the dark,
Came a little too late, is over

Calling the children
Conception and dying
Silent, but screaming

Damage done to the flesh, what they say in the name of the
Damage done to the heart is the start of the end
Damage done to my soul, I know, it goes with my
Damage done to my life, cursing loud at the chaos

You're here, you're gone
It's not fair, I'm lost
Your God, your fear
Was it worth the price?

Pray for the children you lost along the way
Still remember the names, and faces
Cold, and abandoned
They cry, their fate put in your hands
When it's over, they come to haunt you

Wasted confusion
Deadly illusion
Nightmare intrusion

One more soul to the call, for all, in silence comes
Two more souls to the call, for all, and in time
Three more souls to the call, they fall, unknowing that
Four more souls to the call won't be all, and you know it

Sacrifice, wasted knife
Destiny redefined
Someone chooses you
Lucky one, close your eyes
Your family knows you're here

Calling the children
Conception and dying
Silent, but screaming

Damage done to the flesh, what they say in the name of the
Damage done to the heart is the start of the end
Damage done to my soul, I know, it goes with my
Damage done to my life, cursing loud at the chaos

One more soul to the call, for all, in silence comes
Two more souls to the call, for all, and in time
Three more souls to the call, they fall, unknowing that
Four more souls to the call won't be all, and you know it

Ashes of ares "this is my hell"

As I travel down this lonely road
So many signs I should have seen
Paths I've chosen never rise to meet
The man I should have been

As I sit here huddled in the dark
A sullen face tattered clothes
Thoughts of you struggle to keep me warm
In this night so bitter cold

Devastated, all alone
Of my sins I can't atone
Self-imposed
This is my hell
(I want you to release me)
Forgotten soul some twenty years
A vivid memory of your tears
Let me go
This is my hell
(I want you to release me)

Can't control my inner rage
Now I'm damned to live that day
For all time
This is my hell
(I want you to release me)
I'd trade my soul for what I've done
I swear to Father and to Son
You were my world
This is my hell
(I want you to release me)

I can see the tears
Falling from your eyes
I can see the light
Growing dimmer as I die

Over and over in my mind
I've come to you so many times
And asked forgiveness
For your hell
(I want you to release me)
Please forgive this awful thing
So I can hear death's angels sing
You were my world
This is my hell
(I want you to release me)

I can see the tears
Falling from your eyes
I can see the light
Growing dimmer as I die

I can see the tears
(I can see your pain)
Falling from your eyes
I can see the light
Growing dimmer as I die
“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.”

Arch enemy "carry the cross"

We walk through the ages
The world on our shoulders
A burden we carry
To the dark end of our days
A thousand eyes watching
Every step we are taking
Waiting to see us
Struggle and fall

And when we are beaten
The cross holds us down
I hear them laughing
And walking away

Carry the cross
And suffer the loss
Hear my confession
Forever damnation

Reincarnation
Bleeding forever
Recover in pain
Pain gives me strength
Pick up the cross
And carry it on
Over and over
The wheel turns again

And when we are beaten
The cross holds us down
I hear them laughing
And walking away

Carry the cross
And suffer the loss
Hear my confession
Forever damnation
“No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.”
