The debate!Feedback welcomed
I wanted to get others view and see what everone thinks.
Lets say you go to a hunting spot, and on the way there you see dead monsters all over and you move by and go to your little nook. While you are there some person come up to you with their 3 imps and bio's and ask to share the spawn. Its clear that person has had a free for all for awhile, counting the dead monsters everywhere.
He ask if i am going to share, and repeats its in the rules i must share.I tell him its clear you been here awhile and i just found a spot open, and no one around.I then tell him that you can have the rest of the hunting ground i am staying here.He then tells me he is going to report our conversation,i tell him congrats.
So,what rule is there that i should give up the spot i just arrived in and no one around, that i should instantly give up the spot when there are plenty of other spots in this area?

the solution always is to be the bigger adult in the situation, not let him troll ya.. and let him share or find new privacy.. there are so many places to hunt I rarely encounter people.. but then again I stay clear of high gripe zones like doom..

so on the way to your favorite hunting spot you find evidence of another hunter in the area then find the hunter at the spot. why not just go to your second favorite spot since you already know someone is there? 100% of something is a lot better then 50% and a possible "tiff".

Can you be more specific about the location?
For an example, lets say I am in Palace of Paroxysmus killing Ortov the widow maker. Now, while I am waiting for him to respawn, I decide to kill the surrounding spiders. Lets say I am 1 screen north east of where Ortov spawns and I see you warp right in the hole where Ortov is expected to spawn, I would find it quite unfair if you told me, this is going to be my spot, you can have the rest.
In this case, Ortov would be the only relevant monster and, even if you can see a pile of monsters proving I have been there for the last 6 months, you are supposed to inform me that you want to take turns and wait for me to kill the next Ortov and only then take your turn.
Personally, I find the game way more fun since I left the mode "grind-farm-profit" and switched gears to "share-help-give".
Have a great day!

i agree with the last dude on the specifics of we need to know what mobs it was ect, i tend to take alot of things into consideration. such as is the person afk? if they are ill try to steal the mob, soley cause thats just lame. if its say, sabrix, i dont mind someone saying look i need sabrix solely for the eye, given shes worth the most ill let them have it on the account i can farm the rest of the spideys. if they decline i would ask for a turn-based system between sabrix's. of which they must agree too but again, it only stays in effect if they sit put on sabrix's spawn. theyll probably be able to kill malefic too, since he spawns a few tiles away.
the one that gets me is blood dungeon ballys, i sit there while kegging/raising skills, while i check the eastern spawn someone runs past me, straight to the western one which is up, kills it, and recalls off. --- so much for being 'turns' it is however petty to get caught up on. in that case theres not much you can do.
imo, if its trash farm spots like ballys, let it go, if its something like a goc/peerless mob, yeah sure, confront em.. the bottom line is you 'have' to share aslong as they stay on the spawn and not elsewhere. define elsewhere? i would agree with the last bloke, if your 2+ screens away your off the spawn.
remember you always have the option to be polite and say look, when its your turn, you sit here and wait, ill hunt. pm me when you kill it and well swap, rince repeat. atleast you both get to hunt other things while you wait. its mutually benefical.

You pretty much have an idea of how most reasonable players will react given your situation. If it is a spawn like Lady Mel, I will normally take turns with the player that was already there if it was somewhere like dread horn where most of the time is busy I'll rather come back later (that's just me) since sometimes you might encounter uncool players that are not willing to share the field. Fortunately for me when I arrive to a location either it's empty.... or I go and she/he is leaving or that person arrives and I am leaving

Wait, so since you are sitting at one of the three spawns, people are not allowed to kill one you are not at? I do what you described pretty frequently (well this is a bit of an exaggeration) and see no problem with it. The reason I kill it is because it's right in front of me and you are not there, and then I leave right after because I see you are there and don't care to share or take turns with anyoneStyx wrote: the one that gets me is blood dungeon ballys, i sit there while kegging/raising skills, while i check the eastern spawn someone runs past me, straight to the western one which is up, kills it, and recalls off. --- so much for being 'turns' it is however petty to get caught up on. in that case theres not much you can do.

this is the discussion, its hard to label what a spawn is classified as, my argument is that the long wait time between ballys is terrabad anyway, it makes it quite lame to camp there, but if i have sat there waiting for any 1 of the 3 spawns to pop, idealy it should be mine, the reason i refered to it as petty is it depends how you label it. im not claiming the whole dungeon, im claiming 3 spawns which are very easy to control and keep down as 1 person. if the unfortunate event arises that 2 pop at the same time, thats when you'll run in and kill one. which is aggravating since i waited it out. im not saying there not 'allowed' to kill one, if they want to sit and wait with me the next pop is mine, the oen after theres, rince repeat. the problem is having 3 spawns its hard to camp with 2 people,
if you havent waited for any spawns. run in while im clearly camping em and kill 1 of the freshpops, no, i dont think your entitle to it.
i dont however care so much on the subject. since its a very fine line. i will say again however i chose 3 easy to kill, long cooldown spawns to classify as one. im not claiming say 6 different lich spawns in doom all to be mine recalling between em, as thats is alot harder to keep deaded due to the short respawn + general amount of them.

I had bad experiences with doom liches multiple times.
Some of the players have complex macros that will recall in, run to the monster, kill it, [claim and recall to the next spot.
I have found it very annoying to see players recall in front of me and snap that lich that I was flagged on.
I see no problem with players scripting ressource gathering, but personally, I would love to see script hunting prohibited. Because of this, I avoid going in doom. I have elected to buy two +10 levels for weapon deed to complete the leveling of my Titan hammer.
Not cool imo

Wake up really early on the weekends, and log in long before the bums decide to wake up. LOL Then you will have lots of places to go and hardly see anyone.

Well if you are trying to count all 3 ballies in Blood Dungeon as one spawn, I am afraid you are gonna be disappointed a lot. Yes they are close together but I think most see them as 3 different spawns.
With the number of people on the shard nowdays I think there needs to be more hunting spots comparable to blood. Not all ballies but something remotely comparable. A few areas with something like the spiders in Twisted Weald. You don't get as much loot per spider as you do a bally but there are more spiders so you can stay busy fighting vice camping the spawn. That was why I suggested a lot of ramping up of the spawn in the lower levels of dungeons. Not just harder monsters but a much faster respawn time. I mean it could be something as minor as earth elementals if you get mobbed by 30 of them at a time.
Not sure this is possible but it would be GREAT if the longer you stayed at selected spawns the faster and faster the spawn would get. Sort of like the npc's doubling number of bottles each time restocked. If not a faster respawn then double the number of earth elementals each time they respawn. Then if you leave, after a while the spawn defaults back to normal. With something like this you could turn any area with this feature into a great spawn with some work and time invested...
I have also seen shards where variations on a theme were used. On this shard the bottom level of Shame dungeon had about 10 different kind of trolls. The hardest troll was quite a fight and there were 4 or 5 of them scattered about the level with a LOT of other trolls for backup. Just make the trolls different colors with different titles and skill sets and loot levels. ie at least one type as a spellcaster, one with a bow and arrows, one uber troll rather similar to a bally in difficulty to kill.
Even destard while its nice has pretty slow respawn times. Much faster respawn times give more of a danger element ie more chance to get mobbed and dragged down.
So there are several options to help with spawn camping. Various ways to make other places attractive to hunt, shorten respawn times, increase number of monsters, increase both, etc
Give players more options. The reason ballies are camped as they give more loot then most creatures. The few I can think of that give as much or more loot are a LOT harder to kill so people avoid them. Not that ballies are safe to hunt but compared to some stuff they aren't bad.

I see them as three different spawns. First of all, they do each have a unique spawner and secondly, they are a screen or so apart. I am not here to read minds, if something is several screens away from you it's fair game imoHighroller wrote:Well if you are trying to count all 3 ballies in Blood Dungeon as one spawn, I am afraid you are gonna be disappointed a lot. Re: The debate!Feedback welcomed
yeah this happened to me in blood once. someone (didn't know at the time) was at the eastern most bally. i ran up and around not seeing him (2 entrances remember) and killed a paragon bally. well the gentleman came back up and started complaining. i recalled away.
a. If there is more than one player at a spawn, the players must take turns. Once a player kills/tames a monster or takes/steals an item, he or she must go in the back of the line and wait for others to get their turn.
if you read the book at lady mel i do believe it says that if you hide or leave the area you lose your turn. also, yes i believe the 3 bally's in blood are 3 different spawns.
I think we got off track a little. so according to the rules no matter what the spawn is whether it be lady mel or a skeleton we have to take turns. seeing that oldmule was there first (even though there were bodies all over the place) it was his turn first, and then the player who was killing around it. sometimes i see this around the black liche lord.
