GoC pieces account bound?

Post by Johnny Warren »

I've been hearing ppl say that GoC pieces are now account bound.. or at least some pieces are. Is this true?

I sell GoC bits on my vendor and don't want to be wasting my gold on vendor charges if the items won't sell as nobody can use them...

Thanks

This was actually announced yesterday as an up coming change by +Colibri. I tested it out with a guild member using two recently obtained pieces from bedlam and both the jade amulet and skeleton key are indeed account bond. I'm not positive if every single Gem of Completion item has been changed to account bond with yesterdays server restart. However, I am sure it will eventually be posted in the change log soon enough so keep an eye out for the new changes. :?

What the...You are telling me that all of my gems of completion are now worthless?! Are all of my Mage Inquisition armor pieces now bound also? All of my pieces that I have collected for the last year are now unable to be traded...that hardly seems fair to the players that have worked to collect these items...I would have liked some warning so I could have sold, traded or at least stopped wasting my time collecting the items...this change will cost me over 100 million easy...any chance of converting gems and MI items to ed or gold?

HAHAHAHAHA

Sorry, I'm getting screwed just as hard as you are Electra (well not quite as hard) but yeah, most of my income was from selling goc peices and goc's

asking to have them converted into gold is so silly though since thats what Colibri is trying to stop (For some terrible reason, Heaven forbid a person obtain mass quantities of ED without donating)

Yeah its unforunate, makes me sad to, i was pissed off for a good 30 straight hours, but i'm getting used to it now.

I have a hope that this is just one small step in a gradual change that'll ultimately end with this shard being more balanced for all.

From reading the update it doesnt specify that the completed GoC cant be traded...

+Colibri, any help here? Can we still trade/sell a completed GoC?

What's all the hubbub about? there are plenty of games out there where pretty much anything you get is account bound (many of you will know of WoW (*crindges*) where items are soul bound).

What I think is great about this is that the armor becomes more what it was meant to be like...a high end (ARTEFACT RARITY 70!!!) item, where everybody under 2 weeks old now wont be able to buy.

The only down side is that there are enough "HELP ME IN XXXX" spams from players who are clearly not ready to go after ARTEFACT RARITY 70!!! items, now there will probably be even more, hehe. Think about it like this (those of you who know diablo 2)...you wouldn't go solo baal in hell with a level 1 character!

It will take some time to sink in, but i agree that it was needed months ago. (FYI i didn't started GoC hunting till i was ready about 2 months into the game, so im not being hypocritical in any way shape or form)

Personally I think the smaller pieces, gems and armor should all be account bound but that is just me. Would it stop me from getting a good deal every once in a while when people get desperate for gold, yes it sure will but we are talking about basically the best artifacts on the shard and most people trade and sell the items regarding them like used tissue.

Relax, just my opinion :)

I am all for a balanced shard and I dont mind that these items are now account bound, i just dont think it is right to punish all the old vet players that have invested a lot of time and money to obtain those items.

So it is confirmed that the completed GoC is not tradable/sellable? I haven't heard +Colibri say anything about the completed GoC yet... Just the pieces...

This mainly just hurts my oint hunting, i used to hunt oints in the peerless areas while gathering GoC pieces to sell... but i doubt i'll bother sailing to Nujel'm to hunt oints now...

I'm pretty sure the Gem itself is not Bound, but confirmation would be nice.

Yep bring on confirmation of GOC being account bound. If all pieces, gems and the GOC are account bound, what is there left for highend vets to do? GOC is the hardest hunting in the game, the upside being the opportunity to sell on to younger players for eds. I personally would stop GOC hunting if I couldnt sell it on. What would be the point of collecting 20 GOCs to put in my house for deco?

What else is there for me to do? Hunt skeletons and mongbats in tram dungeons til an event is scheduled for a time which is good for aussies?

I tried animal breeding. Got frustrated with the fail rate to have items in the end i couldnt give away. 150k for mules, 100k for Cus, works out at about 3gp per day of work. Would rather kill 20-30 ballys in 2 hours and make the same money.

I tried bio engineering. Having fail making DNA vial set 3 times (from the 5 bios i have made).... I will say it again 3 times.... 15000 organics down the tube to make bios which are impossible to sell these days with the imp pets floating around.

I used to hunt for decent weapons to level as well. WIth the nerfs they are impossible to find too...

I tried BODs. Same rewards over and over make it kind of useless.

Crafting of any sort is not only boring but not profitable. Who buys crafted weapons? Maybe with GOC account bound smithy might actually become a worthwhile hobby?

Now GOC is going to be account bound? Might have to fire up the old 360...... or start treasure hunting
