
A second issue is a possible griefing angle. Let's say someone goes to check on the hammer. OH THERE IT IS! so you run up but you get attacked by the 3 guardians. Now you are getting chased by them and have to kill them. In comes random player and just walks up to the table and steals it.
A third issue is just spawning them, running them away (like people do at umbris), then running back to check the table which pretty much just makes them ineffectual.
I think a better solution would be twofold:
1) remove the ability to recall into doom. This prevents people from just marking a rune right next to it.
2) make a system like the oaks skull of enlightenment. Have say 3 (or more) different spawn points but the hammer only spawns in one of the spots each time. Make the spawns in locations where you cannot recall into or log out next to (similar to how you can't mark in fel or log out characters to watch locations).
