Town Center vendor changes:
- The vendors no longer charge regular the daily fee*
- There is a 3% sales tax on any item sold, paid by the seller.
- Vendors support multi-currency (tokens, ED, elven notes).
About the sales tax: the buyer pays the listed price (e.g. 1000 gold), but the vendor will receive 970 gold. The lowest amount the tax can be is 1, so if for example you sell something for 2gp, the tax is 1gp, effectively 50%. Whenever you add an item at a price where tax would exceed double the regular tax (basically where effective tax is greater than 6%), it'll give you a warning to let you know. Also keep in mind that the effective tax varies from the exact 3%, for example: an item sold at 105 gp should have a 3.15gp tax, but that's rounded to 3gp, effectively meaning it's 2.85%.
Multi-currency: the price can be set in either gold, tokens, excelsior dollars or elven notes. There are 2 more currencies planned with the upcoming expansions and might also be added to the menu when they're in circulation. Non-gold currency can be withdrawn from the main vendor menu, at the bottom. You cannot add non-gold currency to a vendor, just withdraw it.
*Daily fee that's based on the worth of items currencly on a vendor. Just found a bug with the zero-daily-fee, so the daily fee is set to be at 10% of the regular. After the next server restart, it'll be set to zero. Also, i forgot to test how the sales tax will work for free items, that will also be checked.
A little preview for those who currently don't have a vendor at the Town Center:
